Re: Calhoun Towers - 3430 List Place (2x 281' - 24 stories)

Thrilled that the first phase is one of the towers. Get it out of the ground and happening before any downturns please and thank you Also before SWLRT is cancelled / delayed indefinitely ;) Call me an optimistic, but I 100% see the Surface Board ruling in favor of Met Council, and breaking ground l...

Re: Bike Share

And I was recently in Seattle, and found that they were littering sidewalks like people fear. So, [shrugs]. Education is key here, because these should be completely dockless. It really helps with the first mile and last mile problem. And putting restrictions on it to designated zones would defeat ...

Bird Dock-less Electric Scooters launched today in Minneapolis, Saint Paul, and Roseville. Used one to go from Target Field to my work in the North Loop. Was really easy to use.

If you want to try it for free, use my code WOEXLX

Re: Twin Cities Underground Rail

Since we already have LRT from downtown Mpls to the Airport & MOA, why not have underground rail following the old Como-Harriet Streetcar line, but with a southern dip? Downtown Mpls->Hennepin->Uptown->Linden Hills->44th & France — but here, instead of going west (which SWLRT does today), go south ...

Re: D Line - Chicago-Fremont/Emerson Rapid Bus

If you live in Hennepin County District 4,

Angela Conley is running against Peter Mclaughlin, and actively supports Hennepin county funding the gap for D Line. I would vote for her over Peter if you live there, she will be a strong supporter of both LRT and a more robust bus system.

Re: Twin Cities Underground Rail

Taking the "D Line should be subway instead" debate to this thread, I do think there is at least one corridor in the Twin Cities region that has subway potential: Nicollet-Central (or Lyndale through South Minneapolis so its farther from the Orange Line). Already existing high ridership, higher den...

Re: Art and Architecture Building Redevelopment - 3338 University Ave SE - 17 Stories / 195'

The only downside is 3329 University Ave SE, Minneapolis, MN 55414. It is the building across the street is a naloxene and naltrexone distribution center, which brings out the locals in the morning. Most drug rehad centers are done with daily meds around 10am, but it can be a little sketchy before ...

Re: Bike Share

New lower price for single rides of $2 at a kiosk and $1 on their app. One of their stated missions is "equity," but how does charging people without smartphones twice the price help with that? I would disagree there, 77% of the American population owns a smartphone. I would be worried if that numb...

http://www.southwestjournal.com/news/transportation/2018/06/metro-transit-bus-only-lane-pilot-hennepin-avenue/ Metro Transit and the City have said they have received prominently positive feedback on the bus only lanes on Hennepin. Now lets use our political will to get them to install them with the...

Here's what our good buddies at Center of the American Experiment have to say about Riverview: https://www.americanexperiment.org/2018/06/ramsey-county-board-going-waste-2-billion-pointless-streetcar/ They speak for upper middle class white people, they don't represent the diversity of Ramsey count...

Does anyone have any idea why the moving of northbound Route 14 from 4th St to 7th St didn't end up happening?
35W Construction is what Metro Transit cited, they didn't want to put another bus on 7th due to the increased traffic jams.
