Re: Southwest LRT (Green Line Extension)

While it's not as egregious as 21st St Station, the area of Bryn Mawr near Penn Ave Station is very underzoned in 2040 as well. Unsurprisingly, another area represented by CM Goodman. The Penn corridor is interior 3 and everything else is interior 2. Single family homes a few hundred feet from the ...

Re: Bottineau LRT (Blue Line Extension)

This might work, a lot of the traffic on W. Broadway is just passing through onto Bottineau and if you want an LRT they can just ride that. With that said a lot of people park on Broadway and people wouldn't like losing those slots. There would also be fears of gentrification. I have always felt we...

Re: RE: Re: Bottineau LRT (Blue Line Extension)

it's a garbage route that barely serves North Minneapolis. The route is far from perfect and I'd personally prefer a different alignment but the current route down Olson would serve quite a large number of North residents. It does a lot more than "barely" serve North Minneapolis. Sent from my Pixel...

Probably one of the chapters on the EIS document has the AA information you're looking for.

Does anyone have the Alternative Analysis document that broke down the different alignments for SWLRT?

Re: Southwest LRT (Green Line Extension)

You can already see construction activity showing up on Google Maps: https://www.google.com/maps/@44.8587015,-93.4366027,1008m/data=!3m1!1e3 It still seems surreal that this is actually under construction. Anyone heard any updates on when the FTA might finally execute the FFGA? Been a while since w...

Re: Southwest LRT (Green Line Extension)

It's striking how much more willing they are to build expensive bridges to grade separate this line out in wealthy suburbia than they were to do the same for the two dense lines running in the core. Imagine how much cleaner the Snelling / University intersection would be if they'd built a tunnel or...

Ease of use and bringing the website into a modern design are the main changes.

I’ve sat on those plastic seats, personally I find that they hurt your back side. I understand that they’re easier to clean, but I’m not the biggest fan of them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I don’t think the final design will be a carbon copy of the test ones. Sent from my iPhone using Tapat...

Re: Public Transit News / Current Events (MN only)

A synopsis of a locked article is cool. But let's support local journalism by not literally copy-pasting the stuff they've worked on. Especially since this could be summed up as: Metro Transit is moving forward with plastic seats on light rail because they're easier to clean. My apologies, I will r...

Re: C Line - Penn Avenue North Rapid Bus

In just three months, we need to be building these faster! http://www.startribune.com/ridership-tops-1-million-on-metro-transit-s-c-line-rapid-bus-from-minneapolis-to-brooklyn-center/565437302/ It's 5 months. Still impressive though. Oops, that’s what I meant! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Restaurant News

I'm glad it's gone. the heavy stream of out-of-towners that frequent the restaurants in that area deserve something that demonstrates the strength of our food scene. I hope Newsroom is next. I haven't dined there in a long time, and it was always for business functions where I wasn't the one paying...

How does SWLRT work, then? Is it specifically exempt? I know the Red Line is operated by MVTA for that reason.

Same question about the Orange Line. That's going to be MT-operated, right?
SWLRT and Orange Line will be operated by Metro Transit.

Re: 1500 Nicollet Avenue - Dominium Development - 6 stories / 184 units

I like how this building turned out. I see that they participate in an affordable housing program, but I don't understand how with these income restrictions and the base rent of a 1 bedroom how someone at that income can afford that. I did the math that is about 31% of your income.

Re: Public Transit News / Current Events (MN only)

Trying to decide the best place to post this... As the 8th street construction starts to wrap up, I’ve been thinking that either they should have A) reduced it one more lane to make it two lanes wide for the full stretch B) planned for 2 car lanes, and 1 dedicated bus lane. For the construction it ...

Re: Public Transit News / Current Events (MN only)

Northtown Mall wants to move the transit center to the south parking lot so that the land can be developed. The neighborhood adjacent (which is in Spring Lake Park) to the new transit center isn't happy. https://www.hometownsource.com/abc_newspapers/news/government/spring-lake-park-opposes-proposed...
