Too late to look at 3c? LOL. I always love that one.
I think Minneapolis should be focusing on Midtown Greenway Streetcar, because this better serves the area between the two rail lines. Nic-Central can wait.

Re: Blue Line (Hiawatha LRT)

Does anyone have any info on why we didn't go with a downtown Minneapolis tunnel? like original documents?

Re: Public Transit News and Current Happenings

I'd imagine that there are a few Phantoms left in service, the last order was delivered in 2004. There is a new contract out for bid. Would include 158 buses with 95 options for 2019-2023. There should be an articulated contract soon also, the oldest are from 2006. I though Metro Transit got new ar...

Not looking good for the cause.
I saw that, but they only polled a small amount of people, and I think based on looking through it leans conservative for their news stories.

I will be voting against this if it ends up on the ballot. IT has mixed support, so I assume it won't even make it on the ballot.

Re: United Properties / Four Seasons "Gateway" Project (Nicollet Hotel Block)

I know nobody on here likes the Nic-Central streetcar (besides me -- I think it's not the perfect project, but has lots of benefits for locals but especially for downtown visitors). But if you all have your way and the project gets quashed, does it still make sense to have aBRT follow the same rout...

Re: West Lake Street Hotel- 3012 Excelsior Blvd (8 stories, 100')

I honestly think that this development is a huge step and crucial to turning this area into a walkable urban neighborhood. Interrupting the massive freewayscape in this area is huge. The areal photos in the packet of the site are rather depressing. The parking lot to actual use ratio is like 10:1. ...

Re: Northstar Commuter Rail

Having never been to St. Cloud, I was surprised to find out it’s barely larger than an average Twin Cities suburb. While average density (across a country) may be similar in Europe to Minnesota/US, it’s basically cities among farms there, and not the consistent low density found in the US (exceptin...

Re: Mall of America - Bloomington

Makes me wonder if there are still plans for this wing to be luxury retail. I don't think Gucci or Prada is going to sign a lease near H&M. Another thing to note is that Tucci Bennuch recently closed and that space is contiguous to H&M. That frees up a big slice of space that also faces the outside...

Re: Northstar Commuter Rail

I appreciate GOP support for trying to get Northstar to St. Cloud, but the fact of the matter is it will cost money to do it the right way. No shortcuts, that's how we ended up with a Big Lake terminus. Only one roundtrip train per day between Minneapolis and St. Cloud will be of little help. It's ...

Re: Car Sharing / Rental (Car2Go, HourCar, etc.)

Car2Go and gone: Legislation aims to lure more car-sharing services to TC Now a bill introduced at the Legislature would exempt car-sharing firms like Car2Go from paying motor vehicle rental taxes and fees in Minnesota. If the bill passes, its supporters hope Car2Go would come back to the Twin Citi...

Re: Metropolitan Council

So I read in here that the Met Council is not technically in compliance with federal requirements. is that true? Wikipedia doesn’t think so, since it reports most MPOs across the country are appointed, excepting Portland. I know that the Transportation Advisory Board (TAB) is a separate thing becau...
