Re: Southside - General Topics

The results of a vote at the Annual CARAG Neighborhood meeting were to officially change its name to "Uptown South." As I understand it, the City still needs to approve the change, but since Bender and Frey both spoke at the meeting, it should be a go. I though it was South Uptown, not Uptown South.

Maybe the next step could be... Allowing any public bike rack to be a dock...

Re: Bike Share

According to the map, it doesn’t look like people are parking them in the hubs. I still don’t fully understand the idea of the hum. In my opinion, I feel like it contradicts the whole idea of dockless share. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk The University of Minnesota campus allows the NiceRide "...

That looks like an office building -- does St. Paul need office space?
Convert Class C office space to apartments, and then this will be new Class A office space!

Re: D Line - Chicago-Fremont/Emerson Rapid Bus

Attended yesterday's meeting, quick summary: I would say there was 50/50 support vs opposition. Bicyclists and Car Drivers think they are entitled to the road. Buses make lots of annoying sounds, yet they forget that the 5 already runs through the area. Parking loss is minimal, yet it seems like the...

Re: Public Transit News and Current Happenings

Is there any place on Earth, besides Tallinn, where the transit system is free? I'm not talking about specific routes or segments like the free rides along Nicollet Mall, but the whole transit system. As for police, yes we absolutely need them on the transit system. However watching the video relea...

Re: Mall of America - Bloomington

I don't think these renderings of the next phase of the mall were ever officially released publicly, they look like a refinement of the plans last released in 2015. the description mentions a 2019 opening, which would have depended on some timeline that was also not announced (to my knowledge) but ...

It's got a pad on top with the NFC logo, so I would imagine it'll be compatible with Go-To cards and/or phones, even if that functionality isn't turned on right away.

Does it provide change when you don’t have exact fare? Can you pay with your phone? Or use your phone as a Go-To Card? It seems like a lot of money to just add swipeable transfers (and MAYBE credit cards in the future). It can't provide change. It will accept phone payment(Apple Pay, Android Pay, S...

Hom Furniture wants to expand. Possibly room to relocate Gabberts from Galleria.

That will be a little sad, since Gabberts is what started the Galleria.
