Re: Loring Park Neighborhood

City of Minneapolis has installed Pride crosswalks at Yale Pl and Willow St, not sure if permanent or just for Pride.

Re: Hennepin Avenue Reconstruction / E Line (Uptown to Downtown)

http://www.southwestjournal.com/news/transportation/2018/06/metro-transit-bus-only-lane-pilot-hennepin-avenue/ Metro Transit and the City have said they have received prominently positive feedback on the bus only lanes on Hennepin. Now lets use our political will to get them to install them with the...

What would you suggest instead? Cause they noted that building lightrail would have only shaved a minute off the running time.

Re: Riverview Corridor Streetcar

Here's what our good buddies at Center of the American Experiment have to say about Riverview: https://www.americanexperiment.org/2018/06/ramsey-county-board-going-waste-2-billion-pointless-streetcar/ They speak for upper middle class white people, they don't represent the diversity of Ramsey count...

Does anyone have any idea why the moving of northbound Route 14 from 4th St to 7th St didn't end up happening?
35W Construction is what Metro Transit cited, they didn't want to put another bus on 7th due to the increased traffic jams.

Re: Riverview Corridor Streetcar

What's a "Locally Preferred Alternative"? So they do a study to determine the mode of transit and route of transit. They bring about 6 alternatives to the public, the public weighs in, and then the county chooses the LPA. Which for this project is a Modern Streetcar(basically light rail) running vi...

Re: Riverview Corridor Streetcar

Inexcusable, but thats reality with our process. Any transit supporters in the state and federal government need to change the rules to make the process quicker. However we also need a ballot in the Twin Cities region, and maybe even the whole state, to get substantial funding for transit. It worke...

Re: Riverview Corridor Streetcar

Perhaps it's time for transit advocates to shift from pushing for individual projects, to pushing for reform that will allow these projects to get up and running under a reasonable timeframe. It's no wonder we don't have the political will for these projects when five gubernatorial terms separate t...

Re: Riverview Corridor Streetcar

Ten years before shovels hit the ground on an 11-mile streetcar at-grade? And that's assuming nothing goes wrong! We have a serious problem with our process. SWLRT was proposed in 1988(!) and began planning in earnest in 2002. 16 years and counting of non-construction work. Riverview, in the very b...

Sort of ironic that the Leamington hotel was demolished for a never-used-as-intended bus layover facility, no? http://www.startribune.com/ghost-of-a-grand-hotel-lingers-in-downtown-minneapolis/284161551/ It's a shame that all these beautiful hotels became surface parking lots, parking ramps, and gr...
