Re: Future cars / Driverless cars

There was a big push back around 1999 or so to put buses in the trench, but the MGC rallied to kill that idea. Would that resolution from 1999 prevent operations of these small buses too? I think that running them would take away the usage from Pedestrians and Bicyclists. Midtown Rail should be a p...

Another re-bid? This seems to be a pattern developing, but I don't feel informed enough to speculate on what the significance is.
The lowest bid was a couple million over the budget.

Re: Bottineau LRT (Blue Line Extension)

Got some insight from a friend that works in the project office for Blue Line Extension, the media is blowing it out proportion, and they received a letter to start negotiations, and not a refusal to negotiate.

BNSF has possibly pulled out from the Blue Line Extension, the below article is the only one I can find. http://minnesota.cbslocal.com/2018/02/08/blue-line-extension/?utm_campaign=true_anthem&utm_content=5a7d0fe304d30145b2d07291&utm_medium=facebook&utm_source=social Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Re: Public Transit News and Current Happenings

Will Metro Transit and the opt-out operators be posting ridership data from Super Bowl week? I'm interested in seeing ridership with the extra service. Also how did the Super Bowl LRT operations go? Besides the protest and long line for security check it looked like it went well. I am assuming we w...

In a revolutionary change from the prior office holder, a Schroeder staffer responded to say they've looking into it.
Same! Like many said Quincy was non-responsive.

Re: D Line - Fremont/Emerson/Chicago Rapid Bus

Sorry if this has been addressed, but what will this line be called? The A-Line makes sense as the first, but it's going to be weird if these keep the letters they were proposed as, and not the order in which they were built. A Line - Snelling Ave/Ford Parkway B Line - Lake St/Marshall St C Line - ...

Sorry, that should have said "this building", not "his building."
Ah gotcha, I still wrote him a letter to stop trying to kill this project with minor things.

Re: Southwest LRT (Green Line Extension)

It would be great if a bunch of his constituents (I don't live in his district) wrote letters and reminded him that he represents a lot of people besides the few that live in his building. Does he actually live in that building? That seems like a major conflict of interest, I live in his district. ...

Re: D Line - Fremont/Emerson/Chicago Rapid Bus

If you feel strongly about the lack of a station at 48th, I’d urge you to get involved and contact your elected officials immediately (Jeremy Schroeder most importantly). Remember that this project is being planned by Metro Transit staff. For better or worse (almost always worse), Metro Transit’s p...

Re: Orange Line (35W BRT) & Lake St Transit Access Project

I know it's too late now, but I wish the City or County could have stepped up to fund a center island BRT station at 38th Street. Not only would it connect with Route 23-Future-38, but it would provide another good walk-up transit option for the growing area along 38th St between Pleasant and Chica...

I know it's only 2 blocks from 46th but a little surprised they went with 52nd over 48th, considering it's a likely destination for some riders given the commercial node there.
They are doing public input on the draft, so I would make sure you suggest adding it in!
