Re: Riverview Corridor Streetcar
Damn I think that this is honestly a really hard call. On one hand aBRT is much cheaper and provides a marginally faster service and likely would be implemented much sooner. But on the other a Street Car has the better potential draw people from from the airport to take transit especially since it c...

Does anyone know what the plan for long meadow circle down there was? It looks like a company bought up and tore down a bunch of single family homes then never did anything with it

Re: Metropolitan Council
Man could you imagine a more cohesive super region. more equal transportation network, more spread out response to low income housing. Maybe even being able to equitably spread out school funding across the entire region.

Re: Transit Crime
They already do staff cleaning crews at Target field for the trains, I believe they are trying to add more to Mall of america and union depot. Lake street light rail and brt stations each have a mostly permanent staff during the week. other than that they have 30 or so people that drive around the s...

Re: Purple Line BRT (Rush Line Corridor)
Why is this still being billed at a colored metro line. This seems more in line with our lettered BRT. It hardly looks like its getting dedicated lanes where it matters most.

Re: North Loop Neighborhood
I'm curious if this will be redeveloped or will have to be taken for the Blue Line Extension. Either way it is an ugly car centric building and happy to see it go. on current plans for the blue line it show the building needing to be demolished so i would assume they will be looking to buy it hopef...

It will be interesting to see how the changes in uptown go next year too with the addition of bus lanes and a short bike lane addition too

yes we should get the B, E and Gold line all launching in 2025. They had to push the opening due to delays on getting the additional road work completed in the area

Re: Fare-Free Transit
If equity is the reasoning then we should just expand the reduced fare program. I feel like handing out free bus passes to everyone in the 7 county area under a certain household income would be a good option as well before going all fare free

Looks like they plan to have the site fully demolished by the end of next May. Everything goes except the fence around the site and the parking lot surface

Re: Nicollet-Lake - greater Kmart area
what are you referring to?If that diagonal path were well programmed, it could be a fantastic experience. If it's not, it will be an unpleasant and dangerous feeling space.
We don't have a great track record on things like this, I'm afraid.

New Nicollet Redevelopment Survey - Phase II, Part 2 https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/NewNicolletPart2 New survey on the options for Nicollet ave kmart reconstruction personally I think concept C and a transit mall would be the best option. Re: Street, Road and Highway Projects
I have always thought someone should take a similar dollar value worth of MnDot projects and compare cost and time overruns on those with transit projects. Just off the top of my head you have the Third Ave bridge and the 35w Storm water tanks that are 1 year plus over schedule and who knows how muc...

The U of M one runs on natural gas but Center Point wouldn't upgrade their pipe size so they get curtailed to diesel on high demand days. They also have a small coal fired one left as well but it doesn't get used as much anymore
