Re: Hiawatha-Minnehaha Development & RR Corridor/MinHi Line

Drive-throughs are banned as of August 8th. However, if their application was deemed complete before then, they proceed through regulatory review under the previous regulation. I'm not sure if there's any way for the public to find out when the application was deemed complete. Hopefully not way bac...

Re: Thrivent Headquarters Block - 6th St and Portland Ave

I assume Multimodal is insinuating that a daycare is too boring/inactive of a retail use to bless the sidewalk frontage of this building (Please do correct me if I'm wrong and that's not what you meant). That's patently absurd. This area and most of downtown is an absolute dead zone with vacant gro...

Re: Minneapolis Density and Population Growth (500k, etc)

Can’t seem to find the comment now, but something that was weirdly singed into my brain five or six years ago was someone commenting on one of my streets.mn posts where I referred to us as a “medium-sized” metro area. The name on the comment was something like “mpls/stp 16th biggest” and the comment...

Yeah, this one was kind of out of left field? Out of all the places, who would have guessed that parking lot would be getting a new building (let alone a 40 some story tower) a couple years ago?

Re: TMBR - 100 3rd Ave N

How many years do we have left until we hit the 2ºC temperature rise that is a tipping point for climate change—11 years? How long will this building take to build? When will transit come online? How long will this building last? Last year we were warned we had 12 years. Now we have 11 years. Next ...

Re: TMBR - 100 3rd Ave N

I tend to think that, for now, you’re just really not going to sell a $750,000 condo in Minneapolis without a parking space, and for most people/households in that market, one spot is a hard sell. I live in a downtown condo significantly downmarket from this price point and we all have one spot, and...

Last I heard, yeah, they’re using the affordable housing site for staging for train construction, which is part of why it’s the last phase.

Re: Public Transit News and Current Happenings

(and since new development continues to open along transit, like the 200+ students moving into The Hub directly across from the East Bank Station, we might fairly expect a slight increase in the percentages). I wonder if that shift does have a noticeable impact on bus ridership? I have to imagine t...
