Re: Public Transit News and Current Happenings

(and since new development continues to open along transit, like the 200+ students moving into The Hub directly across from the East Bank Station, we might fairly expect a slight increase in the percentages). I wonder if that shift does have a noticeable impact on bus ridership? I have to imagine t...

Re: Public Transit News and Current Happenings

Re: Good time to buy a condo?

Prices on downtown condos have gone up, but definitely not to the extent that houses have in other parts of the city. I think the astronomical HOA fees do a lot to suppress values, which has pros and cons. I'm also looking/thinking about it and there's not really a ton of buildings, especially at th...

Re: Public Transit News and Current Happenings

I think with “station design” the issue isn’t exactly referring to, like, public art, the problem is unnecessary excavation and building huge concourses, etc.

Re: Public Transit News and Current Happenings

Definitely pro-driver safety and feel for them in bad situations, but my thought is that this is also would make them a little less concerned about passenger-to-passenger bad behavior.

Re: Minneapolis Mayoral Election 2017

People can fill in bubbles easily enough. I think I’d stand by a rough estimate of about 1,500 voters in the city who know who their particular park board commissioner is.

Re: Minneapolis Mayoral Election 2017

It’s a weird situation where there are candidates running as very woke for an office that, I dunno, 1,500 Minneapolitans are even aware of? That seems then kind of inherently unwoke. Isn’t the woker play advocating for rolling the park board into the city council, which at least a full percent of el...

The Planning Commission also apparent almost killed the Malcolm Yards proposal yesterday following a staff report recommending denying the move from "Industrial" to "Transitional Industrial" for the site, but there was vigorous neighborhood support of it at the meeting. We voted for it 7-1! The com...
