Re: Downtown Minneapolis - News & General Topics
All of those will take some time to fill. There will be office to housing conversions of the old republic and part of the century link building plus a few smaller ones but we will see a drop in big projects. Hopefully rates drop some this year and that gets developers rolling again

Re: Green Line Extension - Southwest LRT
The lack of a long term plan really shows with this line and I do think this will harm the political capital to build future lines outside of the blue line extension. That is the biggest issue imo. I doubt we will get light rail into NE in the next 20 years which is a shame

Re: Xcel Energy Center
How do I as a south Minneapolis resident benefit from highway 55 going past 169 as I never drive it. Should I not pay to have it ever repaired or improved. Why stop there. Why not route 12 as well.

Re: Xcel Energy Center
Target field is being paid off 10+ years early. So yes they are paying for it(till 2026-2027) but MN has actually done a good job of managing any debts regarding them. US bank has been paid off for the state 20+ years early. Its common to have some level of public support. The issue is if it comes a...

Re: Uptown - LynLake - The Wedge - News & General
Unless the city is able to keep a good pace of new construction. That would help offset this issue as eventually office space even on the county/city books will be devalued. A wild card is what will the value of the office to housing be. Will they require tif

Re: Xcel Energy Center
Like any project it depends. What will they spend the money on within the stadium. Do they improve the outside to make it more usable besides when a game is happening. Better connection to downtown. Can we make a deal where the state spends X but then the owner invests X amount in that area of downt...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Office Market
It helps the economic viability of the city. Even from a property tax and hotel tax stand point alone it is massive. Having 200k vs 20k individuals coming into downtown to spend money and time are an asset to the city. Even if only 5% of those 200k stay downtown for a happy hour, dinner ect thats 10...

"7000" visits per week to the HQ campus from workers, contractors and facility workers is what they are claiming in the media. They are not sharing those other details at this time. I would guess that means of the 35% that are back they are in 1-2 days a week. Per the biz journal the count...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Office Market
The company Zuru has bought 27k of office space from United properties within gaviidae commons. The space was there HQ before moving to the gateway. This includes the furniture. I don’t see a Minneapolis location on Zurus company site so this could possibly be a new office. They do a lot of work wit...
