Re: Vision Loss Resources Redevelopment - Lyndale & Franklin
Hillcrest Development paid $2.8 Million for the property and will renovate it rather than tear down and redevelop. the building will be positioned to house commercial tenants seeking retail, creative office, production/light assembly/flex, warehouse, and storage uses. https://finance-commerce.com/2...

Re: Bicycle Infrastructure
A little frustrating that it's only stop signs, not stoplights, but thinking more about it, most stop lights that I'd be comfortable treating as a stop sign are on low-enough traffic streets that they should be four-way stops anyway, so I guess the move is to advocate for that. 35th and Bryant come...

Re: D Line - Chicago-Fremont/Emerson Rapid Bus
Have they kept any of the local five routes going down Chicago so that a person with a disability wouldn't have to walk three blocks to get to the bus stop? Just curious. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Yes, the route 5 runs from Brooklyn Center Transit Center to Chicago & 56th St Station. W...

Hopefully it won’t sit vacant while a speculator waits for the market/interest rate environment to improve

Re: Northern Lights Express
Bit of a fantasy question but if you had to choose one option where most of the extra money would improve, would you choose: A) Faster Trains B) More frequent service C) Better stations If we make the trains faster, more people will take it and the trains will fill up. Then there will be public sup...

Re: Public Transit News / Current Events (MN only)
Metro transit published March ridership data: https://www.metrotransit.org/performance Some highlights: D line ridership keeps climbing, just short of 10,000 average weekday ridership in March. Seems like it is cannibalizing some C line ridership, which has been declining since the D line opened. Or...

Re: Minneapolis Street Design
It opens up the bike lane to parking/CenturyLink trucks/moving vans/whatever. That's really my only concern. I wonder if the mountable curb is really necessary with the removal of chicanes, increased travel lane width, and parking moving to the passenger side. Feels like those changes should be eno...

Re: Gold Line BRT (Gateway Corridor)
Instead of Lexington or Dale it should be Victoria, in the middle of the brand new highway cap (assuming I’m reading the political winds correctly and that is the route they will go)

Re: Gold Line BRT (Gateway Corridor)
How do we get the Gold Line to extend down 94 to Minneapolis, using the shiny new BRT stations on 7th/8th? Rumor has it that it might be part of I-94 reconstruction BRT with dedicated ROW on 94 between the downtowns with a fancy station at Snelling would be pretty great - would make the no highway ...

This is so far from the best way to spend our transit money by almost any metric. I just want my greenway rail and A-Z aBRT lines

Re: Public Transit News / Current Events (MN only)
Metro transit is seeking feedback on what changes it should make in the near future due to the challenges of the last few years. I think the survey asks some really good questions - I would encourage everyone on this forum to take 5-10 minutes to fill it out!

Re: Purple Line BRT (Rush Line Corridor)
I think the terminus is usually the best place for a park and ride (if you are going to build one at all). It gives people who live further away from the city the option to park and ride for work, events, etc. And people coming from the city never have to waste their time stopping there since they w...

Re: Purple Line BRT (Rush Line Corridor)
Probably helps that the gold line follows a highway ROW instead of a bike path.

DGX and Trader Joe’s come to mind as potential replacements, but they both have stores relatively close by. I live in uptown and shop at the SLP Trader Joe’s. I would shop at the uptown one if it existed, but I wouldn’t be a new customer for them

Re: Street, Road and Highway Projects
New Franklin between Hennepin and Lyndale is pretty good. Crossing on Bryant to get to the ped/bike overpass is much better now with a median/refuge. Since it’s really short and the sections on either side are less bike friendly I haven’t tried biking it yet. Could see it getting a lot more bike rid...

But seriously, is there no plan to make a direct trail connection here? It's all county owned and would be a great connection for residents and park users. https://i.imgur.com/h7KhacC.png https://i.imgur.com/TPeNunO.png That trail should be built, and then someone should convert the kenwood water t...

I didn’t see the same issue for Saint Paul. There could still be data issues there though. I’m sure it’s impossible to validate their scores for every city though, it’s only going to be as accurate as the data in OpenStreetMap
