Re: Downtown Minneapolis Office Market
One of the negatives about working from home I experience on a daily basis is the appalling writing skills of fellow employees in emails or other communications. Honest to god, I'm astonished at how truly awful Americans are at expressing themselves through writing. In this age of social media in wh...

If "Twelve" was a sly mention of a future project or simply a joke is anyone's guess. However Bernardi did mention a while back that he was looking for an alternate site for his Estelle project, which was down-voted by Edina.

Re: City Center
C'mon, the tower just needs some RGB LED lighting. I've mentioned this on the Skyscrapercity forum, but for the last few weeks there has clearly been a lighting test going on the west side of the tower. Color-changing LEDs are tucked into the narrow strip just below the parapet along two of the win...

We've no idea what the pre-sales figures are since the prices and client list are confidential. But evidently they're high enough to secure financing for construction. Good news.Wow! Excellent news! They must be proceeding without a very high percentage of presales!?!?

Eric & Gayla are usually thoughtful and reasoned. But I agree this lawsuit is ludicrous.

Re: Harlem Irving and CA Ventures - 240 Hennepin Ave - 18-20 stories
Frankly, while Victorian-era commercial architecture may have its charms, that style of residential architecture is something I find downright repulsive. It is born of the separation of human and the environment. Windows "frame" a view of nature that is to be regarded as distant, decorativ...

Re: Mortenson / USBank site - 333 Hennepin Ave E (~28 stories / 280 units)
I can somewhat understand the disdain for this project. I feel it too. Maybe it is coming from the fact that we are starved for truly tall, exceptional new buildings. So - to assuage our thirst - we expect every single medium-sized tower to live up to some internationally-recognized brilliant archit...

Re: United Properties / Four Seasons "Gateway" Project (Nicollet Hotel Block)
I'm just going to repeat myself from another forum: It's a juggling act with the FARs, but I can't imagine that a 40, 50, or 60-story building at this location wouldn't be profitable over a 75-year lifespan. It just seems that half the issue is the short-term gain of a project. Which doesn't make se...

What's with all the horrible recent reviews of LPM and their management? If you accept them at face value it sounds like the building is not doing very well at all.

Re: Washington Square buildings (20, 100, 111 Washington Ave S)
I find it really, really odd for many of you to advocate running Nicollet through the 20 Washington site. Really odd . Mainly because a lot of you also advocate for Nicollet as a pedestrian-only street. Well, hello , that's exactly what is running through the 20 Washington site right now: a pedestri...

Re: 3601 Nicollet
Haven't heard anything about this in a while so went looking and found some renderings on the architect's website: http://www.charleslevinarchitects.com/3601Nicollet.html That rendering is kind of amusing. I don't think I've ever seen someone capture the essence of "generic" quite so well...

Per Google Maps, it's 0.6 miles to DTE, 0.3 to West Bank, and 0.7 to Cedar-Riverside. Not quite that big of a difference. From the intersection of 2nd St & 12th Av, it is 2,945 feet to the DTE station walking to Washington, then Chicago, then to DTE Station. It's 2,210 feet walking to Washingto...
