Re: Southdale Area Development - Edina

Shopping other sites- may have agreement in another city https://i.imgur.com/t4EBBbG.png The article goes on to say that the revised development "in another city" would be a single tower, slightly taller to make up for the lost units of the 2nd tower. Total development costs would be a bit lower ($...

Re: Minneapolis Mayoral Election 2017

As the election draws down to its final month, anyone want to share their Top 3 ranking, as well as your prediction for how the vote will shake out? It's pretty incredible that a month from the election, I have no idea who among Hodges, Hoch, and Frey will come out on top. Dehn and Levy-Pounds will...

Re: Sibley Plaza Redo

http://pasterprop.com/center.asp?bldgid=SBP It appears that the owners of Sibley Plaza have a new plan for the property. At first glance it still looks pretty suburban is that a new plan? I see they have Cooper's on it, isn't that closing soon? This appears to be the old plan, so no news at all it ...

Re: 10th & Marquette Handicraft Building Development

Land use approvals expired in September, far as I can tell. Any new or revised project will have to start the entitlements process all over again.

Re: Zoning in Minneapolis

Can anyone point to a particular example where balconies actually hang over the sidewalk? I suppose it's way more common that the building is simply set back 5 feet from the lot line, and a 5' hanging balcony on upper floors would come right up to the lot line. The more I think about it and picture ...

Re: Zoning in Minneapolis

Question about balconies encroaching over property lines (into public right-of-way): When a multi-story apartment building is built-to-line (i.e. zero setback from the front property line), are upper story balconies allowed to extend over the property line (i.e. potentially hanging over a sidewalk)?...

This Reddit thread is pretty recent: https://www.reddit.com/r/Minneapolis/comments/727gmv/windom_sick_and_tired_of_comcast/ Looks like they're hard at work in Windom/Kenny & south Linden Hills to get those areas completed before the snow flies. Loring Park was mentioned as well, though it doesn't sh...

Re: Los Angeles

You could do that. Santa Monica to DTLA is end-to-end on the Expo Line though...without looking at a schedule, I assume that takes anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour+. It really depends where you plan to spend the most time. If you stay downtown near where all of the transit lines intersect, you ca...

228 12th takes up half the block, or ~1.2 acres.

Re: Minneapolis Mayoral Election 2017

I think Hodges path to victory is contingent on a large majority of Dehn voters ranking her second (or third after Levy-Pounds?). I do not think Dehn's chances of coming out ahead of Frey, Hodges, and Hoch are very high, but I suppose he should still be considered a dark horse. My worry is that too ...

Agreed that this should be Silver, not Purple, to be sorta consistent with the Gold Line, the other east metro BRT line. Purple ought to be reserved for an LRT line (Riverview, Midtown)

O/T, but has anyone heard anything lately about CPM's "rival" office/parking project a few blocks away ? Both projects were approved, appealed, and re-approved kind of around the same time last year. It's fair to assume that both spec projects were chasing some of the same prospective tenants, and t...

Re: 2017 St. Paul Mayoral Election

I really hope the Thao (and Dickinson) voters are going to rank Carter 2nd (and vice versa). Harris would be a disaster, but could very well be the first choice among older/wealthier/white folks who aren't explicitly voting for a progressive (older Democrats/liberals who aren't part of any "progress...
