Re: Western Container Building - 500 3rd Street North
Looks like I panicked too soon. I guess a new artic cat headquarters would explain the buildout delay. Wow, that is a big win for the neighborhood. The renderings are really funny in today's biz journal because they're basically the same ones but now with a little artic cat logo banner on the side.

Master association bylaws don't allow this space to be used as residential.

Re: Steelcase (506 4th St N)
I'll explain how this works. Back when the neighborhood was a pile of shit, the developer buys the land and creates an association so that the people buying the condos don't have to worry about a 50 story skyscraper coming in the future and turning their property value into pulp. The guy who bought ...

Looks like Ned Abdul has checked out of this project to focus on the Armory. Thanks for nothing. City should leverage hefty penalties for not finishing construction.

It'd be nice if Ned Abdul finishes this project. Can we get an update on why his project on N 3rd St in the north loop has been stalled for a year?

Re: T3 - Hines Dock Street Office Project
I wish this project could be used to tie a pedestrian/bicycle crossing across the great train moat. The only other crossing is at fourth street, but completely bypasses dock street (and thus the bicycle trail). There actually was a stairway on it, but unfortunately, about 5 years ago the stairway wa...

100 IDS towers would definitely be unique. Would you arrange those in a 10 x 10 pattern?

Re: North Loop Neighborhood
Thanks for posting this photo- perfect vantage to illustrate where I think at a MINIMUM there needs to be pedestrian/bike access to get rid of the isolating feeling made by the rail trench. From this spot on 3rd street there is no easy way to the bike path even though you could throw a rock at it. D...

They were removing a huge billboard structure from the roof at 6th ave n and 4th st yesterday, had the streets shut down. Anyone have a clue what's happening here, whether it's development or just fading billboard revenue?

It's not like you didn't realize taxes and tuition were going to be paying for things you didn't utilize... I highly doubt you use every road or even bike trail in the state, or that you used every facility on campus... you opted to go to a large school where you knew that would be the case... I'm ...

Shinola on the corner of 3rd and Washington applied for a permit to sell coffee. While not a traditional coffeehouse, I'm hoping whoever is serving them up knows what they're doing because they are using Intelligentsia.

Re: District 600 - (600 Fifth Street North)
Rumor heard within Fulton's walls is that construction had compromised their southeast facing wall. Didn't sound like they had really even been consulted on the project before it started, which would be very surprising for how close it is to their building.

Let's not forget Brunsfield, which is fantastic. This is a great example that < 6 story housing can be aesthetically pleasing (subjective, I know), and doesn't need to use every shade of siding in the book to hide the fact that it is a mass-produced box. Look, I understand the reason all of this ho...

Re: Velo Apartments - (103 Second Street North)
In the six story stick-built world we live in, curb appeal seems to be correlated with number of different facades used, and the designers of this one decided it would differentiate itself by having the most used in the north loop. I count at least 8 different panelling colors, none of which really ...
