Re: Downtown East - Wells Fargo / Radisson Red / Edition Apt
Opens on Monday. Was in the Haaf ramp yesterday and I just walked to take a look and did see the signs for the 29th. The strangest thing I saw was the skyway sign in the old section of the skyway is old, while the skyway sign where you turn to head over to the WF tower has the new Skyways to the st...

Re: Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC) Clinic Expansion
This new clinic should help to make it much easier to get around the clinic and save them some money with less duplication of services over it being spread out across the hospital like it is now. Should help the hospital with it's own efficiency once they get the old clinic space re-purposed and up ...

Re: Rochester
Don't think the Saudi's have as easy access to cash as they did a few years ago with the low oil prices. Not to say that they could not bankroll it. Things just take more time now as they have to watch their investment spending a bit more than they used to. I see the Rochester investment, due to bei...

Re: Northside - General Topics
Does the lack of access to the freeway that's already cutting through the neighborhood inflict any issues? Other than the goofy ramps at Broadway, there really isn't an interchange until all the way to Dowling. With the west side more residential, I think no exits is actually a plus. On the east si...

Re: Major League Soccer Stadium
They can put a bowling alley in with the cinema, not too hard to imagine. Getting a few apartment/office building built before 2026 without the stadium would be fantasy as far as I'm concerned. Without the Stadium you will basically be stuck with the Midway Shopping center for another 20 years as we...

They have those crews that go out and pick up trash. I'm sure one of those crews could handle that section in a few hours or less.

Eco-LAb, 3M, maybe a new HQ from out state like Artic Cat and Jack's were. But this just adds to the upgrade of both Snelling, (Vintage and the new bank building), and University which has been seeing a lot of new and upgraded structures since the green line opened.

Re: Major League Soccer Stadium
I don't think the Mpls vs St. Paul comparison is to say that Midway is far from Minneapolis. But rather regarding the fact that they are different political units, different cities and counties, and therefore it's interesting to compare what Minneapolis refused and why, and why St. Paul was so eage...

Lucky they are finding the leaks now and not once the stadium is open. Wonder who is going to get stuck paying to fix this water damage?

Re: Interstate 494
You have just as much challenge of getting anywhere on a street, especially if there are lot of others like you that decide to use the streets. You still have stop sign and stop lights that will slow your trip down big time. You will have other traffic merging and turning onto the street that will s...

Re: The Commons - Downtown East Park
I think Downtown East is a pretty meaningless and useless term. I'd recommend that we have the Mill District and Elliott Park, and they're divided by the Commons and the stadium, which is its own little district to itself. I'm with you on that. South of 5th is Elliot Park. North of 4th is Mills dis...

I see that the pile driver is on site now. I have not heard anything yet, but they are still doing some digging for the basement levels. I assume that if they don't get started this week, they will be driving piles next week.

I'm taking the large space is the old Lee Ann Chin's restaurant that has been empty since that restaurant close, East front space. The event space would be the area above in the mezzanine above Christo's kitchen space. Has been used as event space off and on I think for years.

Re: Downtown Minneapolis General Topics & Development Map
So the S 6th street seems to take the upper floors of the old Sak's store out of play now, that would be 7th and Nic. Can't think of any place other than City Center that would have any kind of space for a Y at that corner. If they are thinking about closing up the Gaviidee Arcade for a Y there will...
