Re: Southwest Corridor (Green Line Extension)
Holy melodrama. SW as currently proposed is not some tragedy, nor is it "bad" transit. It's also not perfect. But it will help tens of thousands of people get around the metro more easily every single day. And it will change development patterns all along the line for the better. Your arg...

Re: Southwest Corridor (Green Line Extension)
Great post, and I agree. What can we do in this regard? We could build a trojan horse to infiltrate the Met Council... That's just my first idea. I may have others.

Permeable surfaces like what they're showing typically provide great traction.

I'm enjoying Banished, too. So far I've only killed one herd of peeps.3/4 of my village starved to death because I didn't have have houses in the right place in relation to workplace and markets.

That fake stream is my favorite thing in downtown St. Paul. Nothing like cooling the dogs, drinking a beer and listening to live music - even if the stream has a Camp Snoopy vibe.

I think there's a good chance of that. Some companies have been getting creative on renovating their ugly bunker skyscrapers of this mold. I am hoping for a Block E level of enhancement on the Nicollet side, and some subtle accent lighting would help it fit in with our increasingly lively night skyl...

I'm really pushing for 3M because then we'd get some cool (albeit small) features thrown in for the wow factor. I took a tour of their Innovation Center within the last year and it was pretty slick. And there'd be no floating AP on the western peak if it wasn't for its technology.

Re: Rumors!
The point is in Minneapolis we have many vacant parcels where the aspect ratio of a skinny skyscrapers would fit. It's a strategy to create dense infill with a large concentration of human activity occuring on a very small amount of lateral space. It's an efficient and creative way to fill up more ...

If that wasn't enough, John, something could be in the works to bring the Chicago Spire back from the dead - my favorite supertall proposal of all time.
