Re: Public Transit News / Current Events (MN only)
There are a lot of moving pieces related to the F line and the rebuild of Central Avenue. Columbia Heights recently won a grant of $25M for rebuilding Central, so they're also looking to avoid doing two rounds of work on the same corridor. There are also some large-scale redevelopments that haven't ...

I'm very interested in what will happening to the Renaissance Center in Detroit now that GM announced it's moving to the new Hudson two-building complex. I love the RenCen, even though I wouldn't want to walk its dark concrete hallways every day.

Speaking of Honeywell, it was crazy to drive past their huge campus just outside of Glasgow the other day - looks very similar to their old place by the Quarry - low and long.

How well positioned are our big three office towers for this new environment? I'm curious if they're so top tier that they'll largely be OK, or if either of them might have big challenges coming their way.

I've also seen this crackhouse-in-a-blanket situation on the train. I was mortified, and can't imagine how badly I'd think of another city if that happened while visiting. How hasn't been more urgency to immediately stop this, even though I understand some of the challenges?

I was to attend a preview night, and it's a really charming space with a good bit repurposed from the Bacon Social days. Vincent is such a good chef - and their pizza-like dish with onions and cream is amazing, as well as the famous Vincent burger, of course.

I'm so excited for all the development finally happening in this little stretch of Central north of Broadway. I've got to imagine the ice arena's days are numbered, too.

There are also obvious concerns about safety, so some urban schools (like Primrose) like to take spaces that aren't directly accessed from the street.

Re: Minneapolis Density and Population Growth (500k, etc)
Having brought friends from Boston (where I currently live) and San Francisco to Minneapolis, they were flabbergasted at how a place with such little street life and so much empty space could be considered a major city.
