I sure hope we avoid slippery-sloping our way to signage everywhere.

Re: Bloomington Central Station & South Loop Development

For anyone who hasn't visited (in non-winter I guess), the Bloomington Central Station Park is actually worth seeing and experiencing. Not huge but no expense was spared. One of the best financed parks I've seen in the state. Helps that it's right on the Blue Line. If that can be further emphasized ...

Re: Midtown Greenway

Slightly related; has anyone considered how the Midtown Greenway trail extension over the river could accommodate or dovetail with the Midtown corridor? Could we conceivable get rail service on this line into Saint Paul?

Re: Future cars / Driverless cars

Cheap gas strikes again. This is really a further shift to sell fewer loss leader, fuel-efficient ICE cars, and more crossovers and SUVs for the bottom line. Very much like what Ford did recently. BEVs are coming either way as they'll very soon be cheaper to buy and own than even cheap ICE cars. Int...

I bet the best units sell FAST. Great timing for local boomers with some money (there are a lot of them) to "downsize."

Eleven's a slender and nice-looking tower. There are worse things to be looking at. Just be glad the two buildings aren't in the reversed places.

Re: Soccer Stadium and Snelling-Midway Development

I think it's a tastefully-designed building that isn't done yet. Landscaping and surroundings will also make a big difference. This looks amazing at night. Compares favorably with other MLS stadiums I've seen.

I just hope they can develop the parcel in phases and incrementally. Perhaps add some street grid, too? That is one massive lot in a part of town that desperately needs more residents.

Nice infill project, and on a smaller scale than many others. Wish it were built on a surface lot but I'll take it.

60-75 unit building proposed for 520 Payne Ave site (near E 7th), currently an empty lot. On Facebook neighbors appear to not like that it will involve low-income housing tax credits.
Any idea if it would make it all the way to the corner at E 7th?

They're taking a couple of weeks to reclaim and remove fixtures and details to sell or preserve in new space. No demo yet on the buildings or the houses and no heavy equipment on site as of yesterday. Expect them to rush foundation and demo once the parts are removed since they're on a tight, miss-o...

They cite the loop and say it's not intended as a circulator.

1. Is this accurate, and
2. If it isn't intended to be a circulator, should it be?

Personally, I'm much more likely to take transit, especially daily, when it's a single seat ride.

Re: Former West Publishing / County Jail development site

It's really an issue of wayfinding. It's virtually no different to take BV from downtown than it is to head up the 3rd street bridge. BV is confusing even once you're on it. Feels like they're always reconfiguring it. A few signs would make a difference.
