Re: 250 E. 7th Street
That entire stretch of 7th has been a dead zone for as long as I can remember with the exception of Buttered Tin and Coco Bear. It's amazing that some of those buildings (O'Connor)have survived this long and didn't meet the wrecking ball. What I find surprising about the Buttered Tin building is th...

Re: 250 E. 7th Street
I was just happy to see something moving into the spot but this sounds amazing. With Buttered Tin, it seems like this could be a real turning point for this stretch of East Seventh which in large part hasn't benefited from Lowertown's resurgence...until now.

Re: 250 E. 7th Street
Today I was just riding my bike by here and I spoke to the owner of the new restaurant / beer hall being constructed. It's called "dark horse", it should be open by August. They also plan on making a nice patio between the 250 building and the building just to the east of it. Wow, fantast...

250 E. 7th Street
Does anybody know what is going into this space? This is the former Twin Cities Magic location. It has had for sale/lease signs up for some time (see: http://brooksgroup.net/250ESeventh.cfm) but now construction plastic has been erected and a MP Johnson Construction sign is in the window. This is ne...

Re: St. Paul Restaurant News
It appears the retail space in Lowertown's Farmers Market Lofts has finally been filled by a pizza joint: http://growlermag.com/3-lowertown-developments-to-watch-in-2015/ The article also indicates a restaurant with a rooftop deck might being going into downtown St. Paul's Pioneer-Endicott Building....

Re: Green Line (Central Corridor LRT)
I'm betting the Green Line opens 5 weeks prior to July 1... "The Green Line also stands to receive up to $1.3 million in additional funding for opening early. According to the grant agreement, the line will receive $268,000 per week of revenue service before July 1, for a maximum of five weeks....

A blurb in the Downtown St. Paul Voice (http://www.stpaulpublishing.com/downtown.html on page 4 under "Wabasha Street developments") indicates that the Macy's buiding will be coverted to office space.

Re: The Penfield - (101 10th Street East)
I have to agree with those that have said the Penfield will be just fine. The occupancy numbers may not be great now but with Lunds and light rail (a block away) opening next spring/summer and then the Saints stadium and Pedro park eventually this area will be highly sought after. Frankly, it's alre...

Re: Green Line (Central Corridor LRT)
Here is a presentation for tonight's Transportation Committee meeting: http://metrocouncil.org/Council-Meetings/Committees/Transportation-Committee/2013/October-28,-2013/Info_CCLRT.aspx Looking at slide 9 of 25, does anyone know if they are ever going to cover the mesh wire? I thought it was covere...

Re: Green Line (Central)
With a project of this significance and visibility I'm sure it will get done on time but I'm a little surprised that it is now August and the progress this summer on the catenary wiring appears virtually nonexistent. Catenary wiring still ceases to exist for the bulk of the University track in St. P...

Re: The Penfield - (101 10th Street East)
A building across from the Penfield, on the east side of Robert St, now has its front torn off and plywood covering the windows. Anyone know what's going on here? I'm curious as well. The City's permit/property info page indicates it's a $625,000 project but is not clear for what really. https://ww...

Update from Mac-Grove.... Cow Bella is not closing...still open. It appears as if French Meadow will not be opening this month, no word yet on when it will. Work is really coming along on the new Buffalo Wild Wings location in the former Cheapo store on Snelling. Looks like it might open soon An ar...

Re: West 7th in Lowertown
Sorry to nitpick but is this not actually *East* 7th? I'm not from St Paul so maybe I don't appreciate the subtleties...
Yeah. My wife loved pointing that out as well. I was going to edit my message but realized I couldn't also edit the thread subject so I decided to just live with the shame.

East 7th in Lowertown
There is some new retail on the somewhat troubled but ever promising part of West 7th in Lowertown. A new high end pet supplies boutique called Cocobear http://www.cocobearpetcare.com/#!home/mainPage A heavy metal record store just around the corner from Capitol Guitars called Into the Void Records ...

Re: old Eisenberg's location in Lowertown
I stopped in the other day to the Liquor Vault and the gentleman at the register did confirm their planned move to the Eisenberg's location in June or July. I asked if their selection would change and he indicated they would carry a few more wine varietals and things like cheese. I wonder if there i...
