Re: IPR Building
I have been told that the owner of the Iron Horse Hotel in Milwaukee is looking at converting this to a high-end boutique hotel..... I think something will happen here very soon.

Drove by the American Trio Lofts and it looks like the entire main floor has been leased to a "health club" all the windows have been covered with paper.
I will bike by and see if I can get more info.

Re: Wah
Washington Avenue is a great place to walk, it's mostly the buildings and empty lots that ruin the experience. REALLY??!! A great place to walk? My office is on Washington Ave at 10th and I beg to differ that it is anything but a "great place to walk". Just crossing the street, even with ...

Does anyone know what the projected cost of this building is? I looked thru the post and maybe I missed it but I am not finding the cost.

Re: Western Container Building Condos - (500 3rd Street Nort
Wow, this would be a great addition to NorthLoop. We need a condo project, I love all the construction but I would like to see some ownership options. I lived at The Bookman before moving "downtown" and always thought this build would be a perfect boutique hotel/inn.

Re: Loring Park Apartments - (1368 LaSalle Avenue)
Correct. Taller tower cranes build themselves as they go up-- because boom cranes can't reach them, and because they need the support of the building they're building to help hold them up. I have never understood how a crane builds itself so I googled it today, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vx5Qt...

Re: Westminster Church
Something we haven't discussed yet: I'm disappointed about the loss of property tax revenue for the City. We have a very nice parcel of desirable land that will now be owned by a tax-exempt organization. Just because the property is owned by a tax exempt org does not mean they pay no property tax, ...

Westminster is signing short term leases with new tenants, Cantus is moving their Admin office from St Louis Pk into the building. it will be difficult to find other tenants due to limited length of new leases. And as for the comment about the members driving in from "Wayzata" I know many ...

I hope we have have another summer of drunks, panhandlers, police-ambulance calls, drug dealers, and public urinating at Peavey Plaza. It's historic after all.

Re: Downtown Retail News
In walking down Nicollet Mall today, I noticed that the retail space in 1200 on the Mall (kitty corner from Peavey Plaza) is all torn up and under construction-looking. Anyone (maybe our user 1200onthemall?) know what's up with that? The message from 1200 on the Mall building Managemnt....."a ...

I attended a meeting at Valspar HQ this week and Sr Managment presented the plans for the redo of their old HQ. A couple highlights are..... They will have a showroom on the first floor of the taller/older of the 2 buildings. This building will also contain training/meeting rooms for a global train...

Re: Nic on Fifth - (455 Nicollet Mall)
Pretty sure nearly the whole building is empty. Renaissance Square. Great vintage building with the feel of an 80s rehab. Yes, Xcel used it (and a few floors of the US Bancorp Center) until they remodeled 414 and leased Marquette Plaza. There also used to be a great diner/lunch counter on the groun...

Over the weekend I was told by a upper Management City staff person that Trader Joes is close to signing a lease for part of the retail portion of this development. Seems odd for several reasons, and I'll be holding my breath. First, while it is a great location with very high-visibility (both from...

It is absolutely amazing how ridiculous people are when they play the NIMBY card. I have been involved with Clare for years and find the behavior of Calumet to be totally disgraceful.
