Re: Hiawatha-Minnehaha Ave Development & RR Corridor/Grain Elevators

You should get some clarification on which one goes first. The images are swapped relative to the descriptions. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Mod note: the image above was updated online, and is now correctly matched.

Re: D Line - Chicago-Fremont/Emerson Rapid Bus

Turtle Bread/Pizza Biga definitely have tables outside. We sit there whenever the weather allows (and we always walk or bike, regardless of season). Although we’re debating giving them up because of this.

We will absolutely use a BRT stop here. Looking forward to it, in fact.

Re: Downtown Minneapolis General Topics & Development Map

Hmm. The visualization MNDOT posted on YouTube shows SB 35W going under the downtown lanes, which is what I had originally typed before digging up that PDF and changing it to "over". Under makes way more sense anyway.

Re: Downtown Minneapolis General Topics & Development Map

The braid is being removed and SB 35W will cross over the downtown lanes farther north. So the whole thing isn't sinking, but that particular cross-section will be pretty flat all the way across. Drawings are here: http://www.dot.state.mn.us/35w94/pdf/ea ... ndix-A.pdf

Re: Arby’s Island

Hot take: the image that's been shared the most is the least flattering, and even then I kinda dig the smooth modern feel. The additional renderings provided in the packet show some more interesting angles and design features. That said, some caveats: the renderings downplay the MagicPaks quite a bi...

There must be some mistake, where is the parking podium?
Right? Three levels of underground parking? I thought Opus said it wasn't feasible one whole block away (diagonally).

Count me in the "Huh. I really like this." camp.

Our American Elm came down a few years ago and was replaced by a Kentucky Coffeetree. We've been using the watering bag provided for a while now, but the poor thing is just so sad-looking.

Making my own drawings

So I'd like to model an addition to our house so I can get a feel for how it could look. I've got all the measurements I need (and can obviously take more) and even went so far as to do some 2D quickie drawings in Illustrator to get an idea for where certain things would intersect and so forth. Now ...

Haven't looked too hard, but can't find the answer to this question: are they knocking the whole thing down or just gutting and re-using the steel skeleton?

I know it's cynical of me, but I can't help but feel like the original proposal was intentionally outlandish to draw attention to this one—either as a "see, it could have been so much bigger" defense against neighborhood opposition or to drum up attention and excitement.

Re: Downtown Minneapolis General Topics & Development Map

Looks like you would take the ramp that connects to the 4th St / 14th Ave intersection, then continue north on 14th and take a left on 3rd or Washington. I thought the same until I remembered that currently that ramp is coming from Hiawatha/55, not 35W. The 35W and Hiawatha ramps merge just to the ...

Re: D Line - Fremont/Emerson/Chicago Rapid Bus

I was pretty surprised to see 48th left out, but if this is a far-side stop (southbound), it's really just a single block walk to get into the business node. Northbound, on the other hand, is going to feel extra long having to walk back south (and across 46th!) after passing through.
