Re: IDS Center

Another thing about the bronze windows, think how they would play against Wells Fargo today and could it have changed our skyline to more of a brownish hue instead of the overall blueish one we currently have?

Re: Vacant Historic Theaters in Uptown/LynLake

I like popular movies as much as the next person and I used to hate driving downtown, St. Louis Park or the MOA to watch them when I lived in Uptown. I also used to get pissed to have to drive to a Best Buy out of town. What the heck. I sure loved that little one Uptown used to have.

I'll be surprised if their ridership doesn't increase even more for May what with these gas prices.

Re: Minneapolis & St. Paul Fantasies and Speculations

In the heart of the core. Are there any open lots within 2 blocks of the big three? Really? There's one very prominent block on Hennepin just south of the Orpheum at 10/Henn, then there's a half block on Marquette btwn 10th and 11th and there's almost a full empty block btwn 2nd Ave S and 3rd Ave S...

Re: Minneapolis & St. Paul Fantasies and Speculations

I think the BoA building would look really nice next to the Wells Fargo building. Similar and complimentary.

Re: Star Tribune Blocks

^^^LOL now wouldn't that throw off a bunch of old timers when they come downtown.

Does anyone know if the park has a name or is it up for naming rights for the highest bidder? If not let's call it STRIB Park.

Re: Vikings Stadium

It certainly doesn't look like a typical stadium. In fact conceptually it reminds me of a few things that others have pointed out but another thing that they used during the press conference was jagged ice and it does remind me of that as well, especially with the large amount of glass. My hope is t...

Re: Minneapolis Armory

The obvious problem would be to find a developer who has the pockets to pay for something like this and most likely not make his money back much less a profit for years to come. I see public subsidy.

Can anyone spot the other new tower that will be catching views of the stadium and the new park? :)

Re: Star Tribune Blocks

I believe the county is holding this space for future jail expansion as the new jail wasn't built quite as big as the county wanted it as they are still using space in City Hall to house prisoners.

I suppose one could say the Armory is/was a bunker and look at it's significance now. The future is brighter.

Is it a possibility that the parking ramp will have enough reinforcement to support a future tower? If I were Ryan I would certainly look at doing so.

^^^^ Interesting that the 5th St Towers have a large amount of vacancy. Espcially since it is very close to the LRT stop.
That's exactly what I stated in another skyscraper forum.
