Re: Vikings Stadium
All this talk of light airiness and not being a fortress and 3 of the 4 sides have gigantic grey featureless slabs? Inside looks nice and the front could be cool in real life, but man, do I not like those outside walls. Maybe we'll get lucky and the financing will fall apart and they could try again...

Re: The Walkway (1312 West Lake Street)
That's right - it wouldn't be the same. If you like it as it is, you don't want it to change. We've screwed up and lost so much in this town, it's hard to trust that it would be done right. Plus shopping for cheap used music and videos in the bottom floor of a boxy six story building with weird need...

Re: The Walkway (1312 West Lake Street)
Am I the only one who wants Cheapo to stay? I love browsing through all the used videos for amazingly cheap. The music selection is amazing and the bookstore downstairs is very neat. This is the kind of a place I live in the city to be near. It was hard enough to see the uptown bar go. I might reall...

Re: 222 & Whole Foods - (222 Hennepin Avenue)
Height issues aside, it is so wonderful to look that direction from 4th or 5th (or I guess anywhere) and see SOMETHING where there has been this huge gap for as long as I've ever known. Imagine what it will be like to return some life -and a good deal of it - to this corner which was robbed of it so...

Re: Lyndale Garden Center Site
Plus, once you get to Richfield, there is generally a lot less on street parking and you can see a really long way most of the time. 35 seems fine. This area has certainly changed over the last several years. I still picture Lyndale hardware on the corner of 66th there. I'm excited to see how the fe...

Re: Introductions
Yeah, nothing like the threat of not seeing the forums anymore to get me to sign right up. I've just never been much of an internet typing thingy kind of guy, but I'm all but obsessed with this city's past and future. When I was going to school in Dallas in 1990 and had already decided to move here ...

Re: Introductions
HI - my name is Neal. I've been lurking since the earliest days of minnescraper. With the new bandwidth or what not, I guess I'd better sign up. I've always gotten these messages saying that I didn't have permission to see most of the pictures, so I'm hoping this takes care of that. Anyway, it's bee...
