Re: Downtown Minneapolis Retail News
Brooks Brothers moved across the hall from their old location this past summer. They were open a month or two and then moved out. Banana Republic in IDS is moving out too. 60-80% off the whole store currently. Almost every store in skyway level of gaviidae is closed. Retail downtown is looking quit...

Re: Root District - Farmers Market / Royalston Station
I think the city needs to wait on this. Is it fair to put that much affordable housing in one area of the city? With Higher Ground right there, Mary’s Place very close, as is Harbor Lights Shelter. I think once light rail gets in, a developer would build a 10 plus story building that includes some a...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis General Topics & Development Map
Seems like now is a good time to stop calling it all Downtown and start referencing the different neighborhoods of Minneapolis around the Central Business District.

The convention center plaza looks like it is being "updated"? All of the trees and benches have been removed. I can't find any plans for what is happening. Is there any information out there on what is happening?

Re: Federal Reserve Riverfront Parking Ramp
Does Kashkari drive in from some suburb in an SUV? According to my friend that works at the fed, the ramp is more for visitors than workers. "it's more about the need for parking for our guests when we have events...our internal data suggest that only 3-4 hundred employees will use it....not m...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Restaurant News
Yes. At 1200 On The Mall, the commercial space works just like any other unit in that they pay the same HOA dues as other residents/owners (bases on square footage). I heard that the residents stated they want a restaurant with simular hours as Buca, which is also in a condo building.

Another thing I learned last night (which may already have been discussed) is that they will have a skating rink in Peavey Plaza as a part of Superbowl Live.

9th street will be staying open. This is where the Birkie bridge is going. Maybe they needed to take them down temporarily to put up the bridge.

Re: Nicollet Mall
Hopefully they take another pass at light timing after the Super Bowl. 8th St was the worst, like Grant mentioned, but 4th and 6th have the same problem to a lesser degree. I don't consider this a problem at all. I hardly ever drive through there, but walk Nicollet all the time. 12th street has alw...

Re: Minneapolis Skyway System
Does anyone know if there is an App, or new signage or etc. planned for the skyway before the Superbowl? I just helped another person staying at their phone trying to decipher the skyway map, but remaining lost. It seems like there is incentive to make something happen or at least fix the worn out ...

Re: Nicollet Mall Reconstruction Project
Does anyone know why the rerouted buses are going down Hennepin instead of Marquette? Wasn't that the original plan? I agree that Hennepin is too busy with all of the buses routed there, so why aren't they using Marquette for the Nicollet buses?? Also, they say that Nicollet will be 'mostly complete...
