Re: Allianz Field and Snelling-Midway Development

Seems like generally things went very smoothly. http://www.startribune.com/excited-soccer-fans-converge-on-st-paul/508547292/ While a few fans lamented the lack of parking, most said their gameday trek went off without a hitch. They rode buses and light rail, took shuttle buses from the State Fairgr...

Re: Allianz Field and Snelling-Midway Development

I drove. Needed to be somewhere right after the game so didn’t want to risk a long line at the light rail. Found parking no problem less than half a mile from the stadium.

Bafflingly easy getting to and from today, if you were wondering.

Re: Allianz Field and Snelling-Midway Development

Thanks for that. So if I'm understanding, they have ~1,000 free parking spots, but if you pay $10 you get a reserved spot, plus a beer and a train ticket? I was hoping they might introduce something a little more creative to avoid sending a crush of people to the already busy LRT.

Re: Allianz Field and Snelling-Midway Development

A second park and ride would probably be a good idea too. State Fair grounds make sense, but they’re not very convenient from a lot of places. TCF Bank Stadium would work well as a second location. I’ve also not yet heard of any private options.

Some interesting nuggets here: https://www.twincities.com/2019/04/03/allianz-field-food-service-to-include-afro-deli-brasa-hot-indian-and-thats-just-the-beginning/ Though the chefs weren’t able to tell us all the partners until a media event next week, we do know that Afro Deli, Brasa, Hot Indian Fo...

Weird. That reporter has the same name as the NCAA president. Kind of random.

Re: Ayd Mill Road

I suspect that, in addition to those commuters going from Dakota County to Minneapolis, Ayd Mill also serves every person in a car who needs to go from eastbound I-94 to southbound I-35E, or vice versa.

Re: Allianz Field and Snelling-Midway Development

Interesting, thanks for the info. Below is the info released to season ticket holders so far, so no details yet on cost etc. In coordination with Minnesota United, the City of Saint Paul has put together a plan to provide safe and sustainable transportation to and from Allianz Field on gamedays. The...

Re: Allianz Field and Snelling-Midway Development

The team still hasn't started really preparing fans for getting to and from the stadium. They're relying on a ton of people taking transit, which will inevitably be a mess early on. There's also mention of park and rides, but I haven't seen specific details yet for where those are or who is operatin...

Re: Allianz Field and Snelling-Midway Development

I walked around the stadium today. A few thoughts/observations: * Overall, the stadium (from the outside looking in) looks really cool. Everything is well designed, unlike some of the older, more cookie cutter MLS stadiums. * The beer hall is basically a giant tap room, and it's oriented as much to ...

Personally I'd much rather they put in a Real Canadian Superstore than an American grocery store. American groceries generally don't have ketchup chips.

Re: Roseville / Rosedale - General Topics

I was going to say, what is the plan for AMC parking? Basically that whole parking lot is eliminated. Of course, that lot was always really poorly circulated, but seems like they'd need a new ramp or something.

Re: Stadium Parking Ramp Development Site

I don't disagree, but to play devil's advocate we have CVS closing downtown stories, Nicollet Mall as empty as ever and even suburban shopping malls hemorrhaging stores. Why should we expect developers to be betting on downtown Minneapolis retail right now?
