Re: Nicollet-Central Corridor

I would also add the point that, while they do look cool (which I agree, they do :D ), streetcars are more about moving volumes of people. I was always under the assumption that a streetcar carry more passengers than a bus, articulated bus, etc. I feel like this is what should be pushed when conside...

Re: 2013 Minneapolis Municipal Election

To be fair, you can be what other people might consider a kook and get elected anywhere if you put your mind to it. I actually think Minneapolis runs pretty well as a city. Granted, I have not lived everywhere, but in the places I have lived, I was suprised by the craziness that exists in government...

Re: MSP Airport

I think we have had "direct" service the past two years, but we have not had "non stop" service since whenever delta dropped the flight. I think the latter is what the MAC is going for.

Re: America's Favorite Cities

Visualizer. Thanks for exapnding on your previous statement and just to be clear, I was not offended by your post. I think one reason it is difficult to meet people in MN is because so many folks who are from here, stay here. I view this as a positive, but this trait can lead to an insular environme...

Visualizer, could you expand on that? I am interested in what you mean, and don't quite grasp what you are trying to say. Cheers.

Re: Transit News and Happenings

^^^^ I would love that. I think US transit systems are too sitting focused sometimes. Especially on high frequency and express routes, I think it would be ok to have fewer seats so more people could board the bus.

Re: Twin Cities Future Transit Map

re Twincitizen's comments: I thought the corridor was shot down mostly because residents didn't want it. In an case, feasibility aside, have resident opinion changed? Is it changing? I am fine with aBRT as well, I just thought it was less ridership levels and more resident opposition that stopped th...

Re: Twin Cities Future Transit Map

Has anyone heard if opinions of LRT on West 7th in St Paul have changed? I know it was shot down previously, and BRT was preferred, but I was wondering if the popularity of other lines has changed residents' views. The whole idea of the transit triangle really causes me to nerd out hahah.

Re: Bottineau Corridor (Blue Line Extension)

Also, aren't our headways better that Dallas's? I would prefer our system of frequent trains over a smaller area, than massive rail infrastructure, but trains only every 15 or 20 minutes.

Re: Vote NO! & NO!

^^ I agree with you John. I miss the days of people like Arne Carlson, etc. The problem I have with the GOP is not that they are republicans, it's that they seem so set in there way, and refuse to compromise. The tragedy is, I think the people doing this are only a vocal minority and are unfortunate...

Re: Loring Park Apartments - (1368 LaSalle Avenue)

When you say crazy busy, what type of business do you mean? It is people purchasing gas, or is it people going to the convenience store part of the station? I only ask, because if it's more the latter, the need could be filled by a walk up convenience store, 7-11 or something like that.

Re: Block E

To be honest, I feel like we don't even have to say the market is the reason we lost the two corner tenants (At least the local market). I know every Borders in the nation is gone. Is the same true for Gameworks?
