E) a giant "canopy" with no weather protection
From the looks of it, it wouldn't be very difficult to add a plexiglass roof to the "canopy". I'd wager that will happen at some point (once enough people complain).

Re: Stadium Parking Ramp Air Rights Development

A Ryan official confirmed this week that the tower plan hasn't been finalized and could get taller. It's from someone at Ryan, so it's more than just a rumor. And I agree with min-chi-cbus that it's fun to hear about this sort of thing. This isn't a wiki, it's a forum. I understand the argument tha...

Re: Zip Rail to Rochester

A note on http://goziprail.org/stay_informed/ from 1/29/2014 states: "A second round of public meetings are planned for Spring 2014."

Has anyone heard anything on this?

I could understand if I was trying to search the entire forum, but you would think it could handle searching just one topic, even for fairly common terms.

Can't search a topic for "parking"? Really?!

I wanted to search for info on parking in the LPM apartments thread, so I went to the thread and in the search bar, typed "parking". This is what I get: The following words in your search query were ignored because they are too common words: parking. You must specify at least one word to s...

Re: Southwest Corridor (Green Line Extension)

What a nightmare. The new tunnels under the channel are estimated to cost $270-345 million depending on the length. Honest question, can anyone ball park what it would cost to tunnel under Hennepin from the Midtown Greenway to 94? It couldn't be *THAT* much more that $345M could it? It seems like I...

Re: The Eclipse

I don't think anyone was suggesting building a European street on the roof, the point was that narrow spaces *can* be inviting. It's up to designers/architects to make that happen.

Re: Saint Paul Streetcars

While the limestone is harder, it still not that hard. I doubt it would make much difference to a tunnel-boring machine.

Re: Saint Paul Streetcars

Are you suggesting that there would be fewer utilities to relocate by tunneling through the limestone? The utility companies operating in St Paul a hundred years ago were also aware that it is easy to tunnel through limestone, and that's why there is already a multi-layered maze of utility tunnels u...

Re: Northstar

I suppose they could put one of those "WARNING!!! Do not reverse! Severe tire damage will result!" type set-ups in the oncoming lane, but I also suppose the people that ignore the gate would ignore the big yellow sign warning them of the potential tire damage.

That said, it does have a Cinnabon, which is a definite plus.
I'm not so sure I'd call that a "plus"... Maybe if you're a fan of diabetes.

Re: Mayo Clinic Square (formerly Block E)

Not keen on the name "Mayo Clinic Square" but thing it's a great new direction for Block E and will better connect the business district with the entertainment district. Hopefully will increase skyway and street activity and support move retail/dining in the area. I'd guess that people wi...
