Re: Radisson Blu - Bloomington

I was a kid when the mall opened so I don't really recall but how was a connected hotel not a part of the mall's plans in the first place?

The small building or two that were at this site have been torn down and the parking lot is almost all removed.

Re: Vikings Stadium

The baseball field dimensions dispute is settled. Right field will be 300 feet deep with a 26-foot temporary outfield wall. For comparison, left field in Fenway is 310 feet deep with a 37-foot wall. Re: 2024 Olympic Bid?

It's the right decision. We've already spent too much public money on sports. Let someone else go into debt.

Re: Longfellow Station - (3801 Hiawatha Avenue)

Yes, the retail building hasn't been started yet. It was stated in an earlier post that the retail building wouldn't be started until spring and completed in December. It looks like that has been pushed back a few months. Right now the south side of the apartment building is topped out at 5 stories,...

Von Maur is a great store. I'd love to see that take the Neimans space.

Re: Star Tribune Blocks

Keep in mind parking facilities connected to the Vikings stadium must be built and are infact required by law. If Wells Fargo, their developer and the city can make maximum use of parking that will be built, I think it's a huge win. Apparently they're trying to get the Vikings to help pay for the r...

They should call it the Powers Tower. I'd be scared to get on the elevator though. ;)

Re: Suburban Malls and Associated Retail News

The Wal-Mart has been open for a while. Not sure if it has spurred any other retail/restaurant development. http://goo.gl/maps/mswy1 My greatest concern about the redevelopment plan is that Wal-Mart will eventually put the Sears out of business. Sears owns their land, and opted to stay in place whi...

Re: Target Center Renovation

Nice to see the cost coming down, but hopefully that isn't sacrificing quality. Rybak makes it sound like the initial cost was a number they just threw out there. I went to the exhibition game last Saturday. They've redone the concession stands with some fake brick facing. It looks lame. They did fi...
