Re: 38th Street Corridor & Surrounding Neighborhoods

At the meeting-- it's a really handsome 4-story project! Extremely well-attended meeting. So far just a few skeptical residents with predictable concerns about parking and affordability, but it's really civil and there have been a lot of supportive comments. Lander wants to go in front of the city i...

Re: 2811 Girard Avenue Apartments

We had a structural engineer out yesterday. Fortunately, he said all of the cracks are purely cosmetic. He sees no issues with the foundation. So it looks like we won't be hit with a surprise mega-bill for foundation repair. Still, the cracking is annoying and maybe the city should know about it? P...

Re: The Commons - Downtown East Park

I am so sick of this city and the developers in this town who present these big, grandiose plans that win the public's excitement and approval, to only have them fail to deliver. Sick, sick, sick. The land of 10,000 broken promises and disappointments! Don't try to steal my identity on this forum. -1

Re: Uptown Hotel Discussion

Try not to get too mad at me...but I kind of think the 6 story version looks better! The 9 story version looked oddly placed and top heavy or something, to me. I think 9 stories on the full width vacant spot next to Calhoun Sq would look good though! And several other places nearby...something abou...

Re: TCF Bank Building Redevelopment

Could any of our Google-Earth-model-savvy contributors mock up a 50-story ~650' building here for us to gawk at? I think that size tower would look awwwwwwesome from classic viewing angles like northbound I-35W and The U of M / Witch's Hat.

Re: Portland Tower - 516 S. 8th St.

Walking by this afternoon I saw that they had the street level pretty much poured and they were starting the second level of the podium which is close to the Sexton. I can't believe how close that podium will be to the Sexton. Looked like less than 4 feet. Sales total so far is either 9 or 11 units...
