Re: Blue Line (Hiawatha LRT)

Yeah, I work with a view of the tracks east of Downtown East station. Trains are stopped there pretty regularly coming into the downtown zone, and and most (if not all) of those trains are a few minutes off their scheduled time.

Re: Rumors: A Historical Record of Mystery

To those that do post on both forums, I have a polite request: Please, please, please stop using "Urban" to refer to this site. I don't know why exactly, but it bugs the crap out of me. Seems it was started by nasa, but now some of you have taken it up as well. Even though I know you don't mean it ...

To be fair, I don't think there's any rules against starting a "Duval Proposed Tower" thread in Anything Goes... Right?

I've walked by the building several times and never has it appeared to be leaning as the lens distortion shows.

Re: Third Wave Coffee Shops

Since we're having this conversation. Does anyone else find it odd they are opening a "full service" location just upstairs from the first floor one? Seems odd to me. Also, what could they offer upstairs that isn't currently being offered on the first floor? From what I can tell, they pretty much h...

I think once it's in Capella next to the StarTribune, it's no longer "third wave."

Re: Minneapolis Skyway System

I mean, unless we're going to add bus stops in the skyways for floating buses, then yeah, people will have to wait outside on the sidewalk (but we really should improve stops...that would benefit all transit riders). But mothers can (and do) bring their kids inside the closest skyway-connected buil...

Re: Blue Line (Hiawatha LRT)

While getting off at Nicollet Mall today, the speakers were pumping out an old-style train whistle sound effect while the NexTrips displayed "This is a train whistle test message." It was a good 10 seconds of steam train noises, nothing short. That was... odd.

Seems like this would help get some data. There's even a PDF guide for running reports and simulations.

Re: Blue Line (Hiawatha LRT)

Speaking of NexTrip, I noticed the Transit app (that's name of it) has GPS markers and timing info for Blue & Green lines now. Nifty.

Re: Xcel Energy HQ - (401 Nicollet Mall)

I'm not sure it matters if this is a private skyway. It is a skyway going from one private building to another private building. There would be absolutely no reason for anyone to use it, since the new Xcel building will not have any skyway level shopping, or any connection to any other buildings. T...

Maybe "boi" is just a silly attempt to give all of the characters more different writing/spelling/grammar styles? That was my assumption for a while, anyway.
