Re: Downtown Minneapolis General Topics & Development Map

Big night for downtown development news on this coming Tuesday: The CPC will have the public hearing and approval vote for: 501 7th St S (6-story apartment building on the last Thrivent lot) 8th St Apartments (16-story apartment building on the Wells Fargo branch site) 240 Hennepin (21-story apartm...

This will directly block the remaining viewshed left of ING and the Grain Belt sign. I don't argue for views much, but this is all too wrong.

Re: Stadium Parking Ramp Development Site

There's a lot of weird and bad stuff going on here What's up with the faux cornice on the 4th floor? It looks extremely out of place, and I know their context, but it's still bad. Do we seriously need to add parking into a parking ramp? With a ramp entrance on 4th!? I know we always whine and moan a...

Hey buddy, my point is that many of those stores were already on the downhill for 5+ years. A retailer isn't going to determine a store should close based on a 2 year phase.

Hey long time no talk.

Just reinstalled Firefox to find this gem of a project being in my commonly visited back in 2016.

They're still having meetings, as their most recent one was 9/28/18. Does anyone know what's new?

Re: Gateway Tower (RBC/Four Seasons) - 35ish stories - ~500'

Hey friends, this thing is pretty far from a full out design overhaul at this point. So if we could maybe have a thread on

"This is my idea of an iconic tower"

That'd be greattt

The deal is a big win for Nicollet Mall, which is still recovering from a three-years-long reconstruction project that played a role in ushering out several retailers and restaurants. ... :| Sports Authority (bankrupt), Gap (downsizing), Macy's (downsizing), Barnes & Nobel (downsizing), Masa (being...

Re: Scherer Field/Hall Island

We need to make a STRONG connection from Plymouth Bridge to the Grain Belt neighborhood. Lots of new units over there with a growing retail and employment center. We almost need like a greenway that diagonals from Marshall/Broadway down to the new park and development. Lined with more housing, a new...

Quarter block but it's still a horrible project so far.

300+ beds but chalked full of amenities (waaay too many). This should have retail and just a basic lobby. We're trying to get cheaper houses here all.

Has anyone seen the inside of these buildings? They're impressively preserved in its current state. Would be leased by a restaurant or retail tenant in less than a few months.

This is horrible

Like... really awful. Proportions are all wrong. There's absolutely not enough units for downtown. And it meets the street in the worst way possible.

I'm going to vote Walz. But I'm not sure if I'll campaign for him. Few questions based on his US House website: Southern Minnesotans are uniquely interested in both renewable and non-renewable energy resources, and I value your thoughts regarding coal mining activities. Should legislation on the iss...

That would've come out looking like a St. Paul postmod mess. I'd rather have something minimal, but pleasant to walk by (retail!) than a statement.

Not from what I heard a month ago. Maybe they found another site? That corner parcel next to Fairgrounds? The 1 story building behind the Lowry building? Literally anything on Washington?

I had a dream this grew to 20 stories last night and became very BIG (Bjarke-Ingels) like. Very clear boxy.

Just for fun. No new info added.
