Yeah, wtf? I mean that looks nice but I don't really get what they're going for.

The slideshow at least said "world street food".

I'm assuming you mean their TDM (non-fiber fixed-point wireless) project; the sservice coverage map is here: https://tdm.usinternet.com/coverage-map/

I've sat in meetings on Capitol Hill Uh huh "My uncle works at Nintendo and I get to play the games before they come out" Bad one to quote, one time that turned out to actually be true: https://quarterly.camposanto.com/my-uncle-works-for-nintendo-9387d64509e9 I recognized another handle of my nephe...

Re: AC Marriott Hotel (401 Hennepin Ave / Andrews Hotel site)

What's so strange is that they continue making improvements on the inside. The "EDM" dance floor has a ton of new lights and a new bar, the video bar is relatively new, and the "back room" through the men's bathroom is now open to all and also has a new bar and some touch-ups.

Re: Target Center Renovation

I've been to the Target Center three times now since I moved up here and the security people always look and act like it's the first crowd they've ever seen. Yelling at people about forming lines when there are stanchions sitting unused in corners, opening and closing entrances, and wide-eyed panic....

Re: Fiber Internet and TV Services, Cord Cutting

Having just recently bought a new HDHomeRun to replace the broken one, I would like to improve upon my current MythTV-only setup by integrating Kodi. What do you find advantageous about your setup? I have my own thoughts but I'd like to hear it from people that actually have experience using Kodi w...

Re: Fiber Internet and TV Services, Cord Cutting

Mine was turned on Friday and I cancelled the Internet part of my Comcast package the same day. Just waiting on their Fiber TV product to get rid of Comcast completely. Have you looked into either Sling TV or Playstation Vue? Those paired with an antenna should be able to get most cable channels. (...

What makes it "fast"? Is it the rubber fill, or the type of fiber used for grass? I'm assuming "fast" means you can run faster on it or something?

At least it's an "easy" problem instead of some bug with how Myth talks to the device.

That is really interesting, especially since it'll record to a NAS. I wonder if the recordings will work with generic video players.

Re: Fiber Internet and TV Services, Cord Cutting

I wonder if the HDHomeRun is bad? Can you still ping it by IP after it's no longer discoverable?

Maybe fire up Wireshark and take a look to see what's happening differently between discoverable and not. As much fun as that sounds.

Re: Fiber Internet and TV Services, Cord Cutting

I'm wondering if a combination of a firmware update and a static IP on that HDHomeRun will help. If it's trying to do autodiscovery and the IP keeps changing that could explain some of the problems you're having. (also try checking/disabling the firewall on that machine, is it blocking service disco...

Re: Fiber Internet and TV Services, Cord Cutting

I use MythTV on a home-built Linux box for the backend and Kodi on a couple of Chromeboxes for frontends, but I'm using an internal PCIe 6-tuner Ceton. Unfortunately it looks like that company has basically shut down since Microsoft stopped supporting Windows Media Center, so you can't buy them anym...
