Re: Fiber Internet and TV Services, Cord Cutting

I saw the crews out and it did seem like that took forever. No boulevards :-/

Re: Fiber Internet and TV Services, Cord Cutting

USI will cover the entire area with fiber by the end of next summer and if all goes well we will have our upgraded wireless platform TDM deployed by the end of this year. http://fiber.usinternet.com and http://tdm.usinternet.com for locations. Thanks a ton for the support. -Travis / USI Hey Travis—...

Re: Fiber Internet and TV Services, Cord Cutting

Or just get CenturyLink, they're $30 for the first year (and I'm sure if you threaten to cancel every year you could keep the $30 price). I'd rather deal with a local company where I don't have to have a "bundle" and don't need to play shenanigans with their pricing. USI is still competitive and th...

Re: Fiber Internet and TV Services, Cord Cutting

I sort of get the feeling that this is one of those things the park board is being firm about because of setting a precedent. Commissioners denied the permit, arguing the firm essentially hadn’t done its homework — not providing detailed plans for how and where it will dig, not proving there was no ...

Re: Stadium LRT Station, Ped Bridge & Plaza (MSFA block)

Well the way it's looking, the state isn't going to pass the SWLRT funding and then we don't get funded from the feds. Hopefully the situation changes in the next couple of days but the end of the session is coming and the R speaker specifically said he wants to kill the project.

Re: The Commons - Downtown East Park

There are plenty of hotels and entertainment west of the stadium that people will be using the LRT to get to after games. Why are you assuming that the only direction anyone would head after a game is east?

It would benefit anyone heading to the SW suburbs on the SWLRT when that gets built.

Re: The Commons - Downtown East Park

There appears to be some plans for the section of the plaza on the other side of the tracks where the bridge will land, but much of that area is listed as alternates, so we'll see how far the MSFA's money goes. This is strange, because I thought I read at one point that Alatus owned the air rights ...

They didn't use the MediaMesh name, but they used the media mesh phrase: http://www.vikings.com/news/article-1/New-Vikings-Stadium-QA-How-Long-Will-My-Wait-At-The-Restroom-Be/d0fb03fa-37bc-4ad6-8a81-a37c6b3fedec Media mesh was specifically mentioned in the original plans submitted to the city. Re: Downtown Minneapolis General Topics & Development Map

To resurrect a thoroughly beaten horse, it appears that lots of people are happy to pay the excessive 25 cent fee to use the parking meter phone app. I would pay a dollar fee to not have to use those slow piece of shit electronic pay boxes where the screen doesn't work when it's cold out and the cr...

Re: U.S. Bank Stadium Construction Updates

Looks like you're right: In the west end zone, a main display measuring roughly 68 feet high by 120 feet wide will serve as the focal point. This display features variable content zoning to show one large image or it can be zoned into multiple windows to show any combination of live video, instant r...

Re: Downtown East - Wells Fargo / Radisson Red / Edition Apt

Am I misunderstanding the complaint, or is the Star Tribune? They keep showing shots of the Wells Fargo signs on the *sides* of the building, and I think the complaint is about the giant sign on the *roof* that you can see in the stadium construction cameras.

Re: Downtown Parks Master Plan

Well that's a real bummer then. Is there at least some kind of public easement on the old nicollet ROW that passes through that roofed plaza? I know I've got stink eye from security guards for walking through there but I'd assumed at was at least still accessible to the public. If they want to run ...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Retail News

I keep getting the impression that there's some kind of weird ultra-conservative astroturfing campaign going on with the Star Tribune comments. Like you'll see the same people constantly posting the same rhetoric about Minneapolis or Minnesota taxes or whatever, and then they're all liking and repl...
