Re: Grocery Stores

Anybody venture into Sun Foods at University and Dale? We like to go there from time to time, plus they were one of the only places open on Christmas when we had a late thought of fixing up some fish for the evening. They have a lot of exotic fruits and just general tropical food stuffs. It's also t...

Re: L&H Station - Lake & Hiawatha TOD

Thanks for the pictures Grant. Any feel for the general vibe from the public at the meeting? What were your impressions of the meeting?

Didn't make it to the meeting, but I'm interested in what those who did have to think.

Re: Southside - General Topics

I have a juicy rumor for you Corcoranites: Maaco is looking to leave its current site at 2005 East Lake Street. So if you know any developers looking in the area or want to snap that property up before it gets re-used by another automotive tenant, keep an eye out. That whole stretch from 19th-21st ...

Wired article on Maps

Came across this article in Wired today, thought some of you would like it. There is also a link to All Streets at Fathom in the article, where you can purchase some of the maps.

Re: Southside - General Topics

I joined some friends for Bingo at The American Legion (classy right?) last night in the Longfellow Neighborhood and overheard a some women talking that one of the women was opening another pizza place across from the chatterbox pub in S. Minneapolis. "Another" would assume they already have one if...

Peppers and Fries opened this week. I haven't been yet, but the place was quite busy the past two nights.

Re: Farmers Market Soccer Stadium

The price of $82 million is what caught my eye too. Can a stadium that beautiful be built for that amount? I don't really have a good feel for how much this stuff costs, but it seems low. Will it most likely cost much more and they are just coming in low with their number? I guess I'm wondering what...

Re: Southside - General Topics

Peppers and Fries is in an old SA at 39th and Lake. They should be opening soon, they recently added their sign and removed the boards from the front of the building, showing off the glass garage doors, should be nice in the summer. I was talking about an old Taco Bell at 41st and Lake across the st...

Re: Southside - General Topics

Sorry, don't have info on the Pizzeria project, but I drive through that intersection 2 or 3 times a week, haven't noticed work taking place, but I will take a better look next time I'm there. I see that some work, roll off dumpster in the parking lot, is taking place or has taken place at the old T...

Re: Longfellow Station - (3801 Hiawatha Avenue)

Anyone know if the Medical Equipment store just east of the railroad tracks, 38th St and Dight Ave, is in play? That looks like it used to be a grocery store in a former life and seems like it would be a good spot for a Trader Joe's. I seem to remember it being closed for a while and then open again...

Nice work! Thanks for the links. I did a quick Google search and didn't come across the website with the name of the restaurant. And yes, definitely sporty.

Re: Southside - General Topics

Looks like a new restaurant is planned for the old SA building at 39th Ave S and East Lake St. Anyone have any info on the project? Tenant on the Mpls. city website has the tenant listed as Peppers and Fries.
