Re: Downtown Minneapolis Macy's Building

It's not going to be another department store. Multiple tenants. Building preserved but interior renovated. It looks good. Just be patient.

Re: 200 Central - Alatus Tower (Washburn-McReavy Site) 483' / 40 Stories

This is across the river from downtown and near to other very tall buildings. This is so ridiculous that it can be held up like this. It got approval. Tear it down in the dead of night and deal with the consequences later. I know thats not how it works, but its just frustrating. Its alongside a mass...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Macy's Building

I know we are sad but the redevelopment plans are sick. The design is in the SD phase. But it's a secret... soo...... That's it

Re: CPM 16-Story Apartment Proposal - 1315-19 4th St SE (Mesa/Camdi/Chatime site)

I feel like if they were smart, they would have included street level perspective renderings within the packet that try to demonstrate how at the eye level of the pedestrian, the scale above is minimized to an extent. By showing these birds eye perspectives at uninhabitable viewpoint, he was emphasi...

Re: 365 Nicollet - (Opus Ritz block)

Does anyone think the balconies are strangely reminiscent of Studio Gang's Aqua in Chicago? There, they have horrible problems with thermal bridging because its a continuous slab. I really hope the renderings are just idealistic/representative because that would be a terrible mistake in our climate

Can somebody summarize the article for the unfortunate souls who don't have subscriptions. The conceptual renderings look gloriously sexy.

Re: Stadium Village 27-Story Tower (Harbor Bay Real Estate)

Oh boy, the comments in the Strib not understanding that "stories" can be different heights for different uses. If that is true that Moos Towers is only 17 stories tall, then the rendering is deceiving as well. The proposed building appears to be only 3 or 4 stories taller than Moos (still a monstr...

Re: Nicollet Mall Reconstruction Project

Comparing the two designs, I think the poured concrete designs give Nicollet a more youthful and modern look. The paver though beautiful and lux, gave Nicollet a more stodgy or upper crust feel. I feel like a more modern paver could achieve elegance without the stodginess. The Alameda Park renovati...

Re: Dinkytown

This is pretty awesome news actually. It has the potential to reestablish the Como commercial node in the minds of the greater Minneapolis area. Might become something less sleepy. Though I hope the focus on neighborhood needs would remain during any reinvestment. Having a hardware store and conveni...

I cant help but feel like vertical "stone" elements would have done a lot to improve the look of this building and make it feel like more of a fit for the North Loop.

I can see some photoshopping of woulda coulda shoulda happening soon
