Re: United Properties SV Station Project

Can somebody summarize the article for the unfortunate souls who don't have subscriptions. The conceptual renderings look gloriously sexy.

Re: Stadium Village 27-Story Tower (Harbor Bay Real Estate)

Oh boy, the comments in the Strib not understanding that "stories" can be different heights for different uses. If that is true that Moos Towers is only 17 stories tall, then the rendering is deceiving as well. The proposed building appears to be only 3 or 4 stories taller than Moos (still a monstr...

Re: Nicollet Mall Reconstruction Project

Comparing the two designs, I think the poured concrete designs give Nicollet a more youthful and modern look. The paver though beautiful and lux, gave Nicollet a more stodgy or upper crust feel. I feel like a more modern paver could achieve elegance without the stodginess. The Alameda Park renovati...

Re: Dinkytown

This is pretty awesome news actually. It has the potential to reestablish the Como commercial node in the minds of the greater Minneapolis area. Might become something less sleepy. Though I hope the focus on neighborhood needs would remain during any reinvestment. Having a hardware store and conveni...

Re: National Marrow Donor Program HQ - (524 Fifth Street Nor

I cant help but feel like vertical "stone" elements would have done a lot to improve the look of this building and make it feel like more of a fit for the North Loop.

I can see some photoshopping of woulda coulda shoulda happening soon

Re: Embarrassing Confessions of Urbanists

1. I moved to Minneapolis four years ago and don't have a car. Consequently all my views of the suburbs are based on stereotypes/I don't know where most of them are geographically. Yet, I don't hesitate to agree when others bash them. 2. I went to a suburban Milwaukee high school for two years but I...

Re: Mozaic

The met council rescinded this project's $300,000 TOD grant. Can we call this dead? I would think that they could reapply for another grant once they have a firm proposal again. This property is too valuable to Ackerberg to just let it sit. He'll be back with an updated plan. They are in fact updat...

No idea how to directly put this in the comment, but the building is in fact moving again. First time poster, long time creeper. Maybe someone can direct message me about inserting photos.
