Looks like we should see some more condo projects in the next year or two if this is to be believed. Hope so.

Re: 2601 Lyndale Ave S (vacant lot, former hardware store)

Yeah, looks like the two house to the south are owned by French Meadow, so that would probably be enough to put together a larger proposal. I wonder if French Meadow would go so far as to self-brand a grocery store? That's an interesting theory! I could see something like that. More of a specialty ...

Re: Road Geek Topics

What I object to is big government telling me I shouldn't be driving a car (or drinking a large pop. Or buying incandescent light bulbs). Ironic that driving's status as the 'default' transit mode today is the result of the decisions made in the past by big government. Exactly!! HUGE amount of big ...

What I'd really like is a yaki-niku style place where you grill at your own table. Miss that.

Would be cool if the AC Marriott Hotel webcam would pan up a bit. No need to see the street and there's another floor to go at the top..

Jesus.. look at all those f*ing parking lots.. This is why I hate the nostalgia of groups like "Old Minneapolis." Just because you were young and dt in the 70s doesn't mean it was better back then. You are just nostalgic for your youth. DT is considerably better today and getting more so every month...

Airport: http://geo.lib.umn.edu/Hennepin_County/y1960/MCY-1-51.jpg Very cool. You can actually see the first of the North Central Airlines hangars on the far right side of the photo. This was torn down within the last decade. It looked like this: http://www.randpeckaviationphotography.com/uploads/2...

Some pretty good company in Fodor's. Seems like the only one that's at a neighborhood level though, so kinda interesting.. Others are countries or states or cities.

The U of M is requesting $100 million dollars in HEAPR (Higher Education Asset Preservation and Renovation) money in the upcoming bonding (Capital Investment) bill. Who knows what the final amount they get will be, however, one project on their HEAPR list is $10 million for a complete rehabilitation...

Really hope this all works out and turns out well.

Huge news for St. Paul though. Mayor Coleman must be relieved. Maybe now the city can focus on some other major projects more thoroughly. Jail/riverfront, Palace Theatre, etc.

MPR just reported that final beam raising was delayed due to lighting in the area posing a danger. May still go up later today.

Still begs the question--how can that be a "topping-out" ceremony with 3 more large steel beams to go up..but, whatever.lol

Sorry, not sure how the word "really" got in there, which made it sound way snarkier than it was meant to (which is to say it was not meant to be snarky). I'd only recently learned about the practice, so I thought I'd share for others that hadn't heard of it yet. :) No worries. And maybe they are d...
