Re: Southdale Area Development - Edina

Definitely an awesome addition to the vast sea of concrete that is Southdale.

But that water tower (one of the biggest west of the Mississippi R.) will always feel JUST TOO CLOSE and will provide a strange looming effect over an equally gigantic RH gallery...

By the way I don't like water towers :/

I like 49 1/2 St better, as there aren't many "__ 1/2 St" streets in the cities

Starbucks opened 3 days ago, on the Marquette side.
Nice addition to the streetscape.

Re: Health Sciences Education Facility

Yes, they are conducting focus groups with current students. I talked with the consultant running these focus groups. She has worked in this capacity for about 10 years with the University. She says that historically, her observation was that when the U runs focus groups on proposed buildings, the b...

Looks like theres some work going on by the sidewalk - probably utilities or such. The building is completely empty.

Re: Southdale Area Development - Edina

Yeah, saw this too. The new addition looks decent. Did not know B&N was moving to the south side - is that new 2-story glass addition for them? Also, saw that the plans illustrate a small car dealer shop just across from the Galleria ramp, with a driveway for automobile explicitly stated on the blue...

Re: Edina – General Topics

I actually live quite close to this little node. Apparently two proposals were received so far. I am looking forward to a high end condo or row house building. The westbound traffic here can back up a few blocks during rush hour though. In fact, there is a listing on Edina Realty for a 3-story condo...

Re: Stadium LRT Station, Ped Bridge & Plaza (MSFA block)

Sad and ugly use of public $.

Re: Alatus St. Anthony Tower (Washburn-McReavy Site)

Is there a way to express my support for this project? Who can I write to?
And Matt, as a resident of Edina, I myself was surprised to notice the average Edina resident is quite progressive and educated.
The NIMBYs here are quite a vocal minority, however.
