Re: 222 & Whole Foods - (222 Hennepin Avenue)

Eh, I find their deli and grab and go type stuff to be pretty underwhelming and VERY overpriced for what it is. I would much rather spend $25 at Lunds(love their deli items) or even Chipotle like you mention. That is just me. Not a big fan of Whole Foods...but I am very glad they are at this corner...

Re: Mill & Main - (501 Main Street Southeast)

Thanks for the information. They do have a sign up prohibiting through traffic, so I'm not sure how useful it is for the public if they were to abide by the private drive restrictions. The only way that this would be useful for public use would be if Soap Factory were to reconfigure their parking. ...

Re: St. Anthony Main Movie Theater

I always got frustrated in school when my housemates wanted to go to the Rosedale AMC for movies rather than the closer and much cooler St Anthony Main. On the cheap front.. doesn't AMC offer $6 movies all day every day except Fri and Sat though? In any case, I wish there were more theaters like St...

Re: St. Anthony Main Movie Theater

That's great news. I really like that theater, even though it's become somewhat decrepit. I appreciate the Main's more adult orientation that you don't find in the suburbs. I am puzzled by part about upgrading to digital technology. I thought that all theaters had to do that a while back. The artic...

Re: Red 20 - (519 Central Ave NE, former Totino's site)

Just an observation, but given that Minnesotans tend to be ultra prideful about our unique offerings to the world, it's kind of surprising there isn't still a Totino's retail operation. Can't you imagine people brining their out of town guests: "Oh yeah, pizza rolls? Right here. We invented it." It...

Re: Pedal Pubs

I suppose I wouldn't mind them so much if:

-They obeyed traffic laws
-Avoided residential areas
-Kept the noise down
-Didn't litter

...I think that covers most of it.

Also, obligatory.

Re: Mill City Quarter - (300 South 2nd Street)

I've often found myself annoyed with the people that relentlessly complain about "more height" on this site. So at the risk of sounding like a hypocrite, I will say I really wish a tower would go up on this site. Something along the lines of a "Carlyle 2" would provide some much needed population d...

They've finished the first level of stick above the concrete, and they've also started laying brick on the rear portions of the building. http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3764/9171898546_aa87c45198.jpg Stone Arch II by dmd.hashw , on Flickr http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3700/9169676591_7e87e40ec6.jpg S...

The other consideration is that I currently work in Plymouth, which would mean dealing with a pretty gnarly commute... Unless one of you knows of a super secret way to get from DT St. Paul to Plymouth, MN. :D

Living in DT St. Paul?

I found a loft that I'm thinking about renting in downtown St. Paul (Produce Exchange Building), but being a loyal Minneapolitan, I find the idea both thrilling and terrifying.

Does anyone here live in DT St. Paul? What should I consider before signing the lease?

Thanks!
