Re: Red 20 - (519 Central Ave NE, former Totino's site)
I think it would've been cool if they could retain the Totino's mural that is on the side of the building and incorporate it into some sort of courtyard or pocket park, but otherwise I don't see much worth salvaging. I'll have the memories of having dinner there with my mom on her paydays, and that ...

Re: 700 Washington & Third Apartments/Hotel
Zenith is a quarter block with 65 units and 9 stories. The Aloft next door is a half-block with 155 rooms. Granted the apartments in the new proposal likely won't be the size of Zenith's condos, but I'd expect a good-sized building for the area if they are using a half-block. Maybe in the 10-story ...

It's laid by hand, as you can see in one of my previous posts: They've started the stonework on the two-story townhomes (area under the pool area). http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8341/8192831431_f32c76946e.jpg Mill & Main by dmd.hashw , on Flickr http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8205/8193918606_7b6ef1c9...

Re: Minneapolis: Highest Rape Rate in America?
Obviously not a joking matter, but I like the "no data listed for Chicago" comment lol. I would like to know the data regarding the percentage of the time the victim knew the rapist. Again, not saying rape isn't a serious matter, but I would wager that some of the "rapes" were actually "drunked mis...

It would be nice to get some more people from the under-60 crowd onto the council. I don't know too much about either person to weigh in on who would be a better candidate though.

Interesting to see that they kept those LTR station arches in these renderings. I recall someone being concerned that those would go away with the new stadium.

Re: Uptown(ish) Goodwill
Saw something recently about a 2-3 story Goodwill being considered for 60th and Nicollet across from the Cub. Anybody know anything about that? Yeah, they are no longer considering the Lyn-Lake area, and are now pursuing the 60th and Nicollet location. http://finance-commerce.com/2013/01/goodwill-s...

There's an abundance of vacant retail throughout the Main St. area. I recall one of the aims of this project was to add bodies to the area, making some of those spaces viable again.frenat wrote:Still no retail in phase II?

I've been wondering...do you have to be an artist to live here? How would one verify such a thing? Submit a portfolio of your work with your application? I don't see what's so different about this place from any other apartment building, other than "gallery and performance spaces and a variety of s...

Is phase two for this supposed to go on Main Street, between this and the A Loft building? Or would it go behind this? It'll be on Main Street. They've already done some demolition of additional buildings in preparation of construction. Here's some info I posted about it earlier in the thread: http...

Copper is somewhat expensive, yes, but the thefts have more to do with the relative ease in which to "aquire" and sell it.Nick wrote:I guess I don't actually know how expensive it is, but I figure it's not cheap if it's getting stolen all the time.seanrichardryan wrote:Is copper more expensive than brick ?
