I'd love to help demo that one. Now only one gravel-clad NE bank to go!

Re: Western Container Building/Arctic Cat HQ - 500 3rd Street N
As part of Cat being purchased by Textron, they are going to be closing their fancy new North Loop office. Too bad, but it sounds like this whole deal was essential to the company's continued survival -- at least according to my sources in the local powersports world.

Re: Smart Home
I'll be curious to hear what you think about that stuff, Matt. I'd like to do a smart doorbell at some point. Hue bulbs are ridiculous, absurdly expensive and unnecessary, but I got a crazy deal on them through a relative and am surprised by how much I enjoy them in my basement bar. I will add a few...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Macy's Building
From what I'm hearing, a food hall is likely for this space. These foodie tenants tend to take up pretty small spaces, and can be done in concert with retail and larger/traditional restaurants. I'm guessing they'd still need a significant office component to help fill the space, but I'm told to expe...

I can't wait to see how this one turns out. Should be a nice, glassy contrast to Moos -- and those storefronts are gross.

So they're really considering conjoining the Fifth Street Towers? Seems like an April Fool's story... http://www.bizjournals.com/twincities/b ... oftop.html

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Restaurant News
Too bad for Dunn -- and the Mall sure is bottoming out -- but there are countless cool concepts (coffee and otherwise, local and national) with their eyes on the Minneapolis market. I think we'll see plenty of fresher new stores/restaurants once the mall reconstruction nears completion.

Re: Stadium Village 27-Story Tower (Harbor Bay Real Estate)
Kinda reminds me of the Gateway project. That would be a great location to live - easy access to Cheng Heng down the Green Line.

I really like it! Those arches subtly suggest the armory and it kinda has a North Loop vibe going on.

Nice! Shea does such great work - can't wait to see some plans. I'd think there would be many benefits to this being finished before the Super Bowl.

Re: TCF Bank Building Redevelopment
I realize that - didn't mean to commit a forum sin. It still it fits the trend of legacy brands offering newer, so-called hipper brands in urban areas. I realize Blu is upscale. Red is planned to be more affordable. Minneapolis is large and healthy enough that its urban core (or surrounding neighbor...
