Re: Twin Cities Future Transit Map

Why is there no express routes for the LRT? The stop and go is ridiculous!

Re: Minneapolis & St. Paul Fantasies and Speculations

The 2 skyways going over Hennepin Ave. should be lit up If the city is trying to make the street look more like Time Square.

Re: Block E

I still think that for downtown to TRULY attract people (particularly families), it needs to FEEL family-oriented, which means it needs VERY safe and accessible parks. I'm not sure very many U.S. cities do this well, and the only one that I can think of that does is San Francisco. I don't think we ...

Re: Nic on Fifth - (455 Nicollet Mall)

Why would it be torn down? I haven't seen any renderings for that side of the building so I just assumed they were going to use it.

Re: Nic on Fifth - (455 Nicollet Mall)

new rendering but same view. what does the building look like on the other side? and I'd like to see a day time perspective, not this romanticized dusk coloring. what is this building going to look on a drab winter day. that's important in this city. Crap. That's a good point. The newly-underdesign...

Re: Vikings Stadium

Well you can likely count on the stadium having a team store on the ground level, and there is apparently a team museum concept that is supposed to be involved in some way. I think the obvious answer is that you have to find retail that makes sense built into the side of the stadium, you can't just...

Re: Vikings Stadium

I personally think shops and bars should be attached to the actual stadium. It would be nice if it was smaller and could blend in with city, not stick out like the dome. Residential buildings could surround Target Stadium on the opposite side of the streets, and parking ramps could go up to replace ...

Re: The Station on Washington - (630 Washington Avenue SE)

This might be a long shot but do you know of any good books I could check out that go more in depth on cost of adding stories as well as codes and construction practices?

Re: The Station on Washington - (630 Washington Avenue SE)

This project is exciting and Stadium Village is beginning to look really neat! I don't work in the industry, I'm more just obsessed with city development and big buildings, so I don't know many of the regulations and rules, but I was hoping someone could tell me why, if there even is a specific reas...

Re: Union Restaurant - (733 Hennepin Avenue)

If anyone is curious, I talked to a CRAVE/Union employee last night who said the main floor is actually called Marquee and will be a night club only open Thursday-Saturday 9pm-2am. Marquee will not have seats at their bar and will be focusing primarily on VIP bottle service. Yes, here it is. This i...

Re: Capella Tower & LaSalle Plaza

I know this isn't pertinent to Capella or LaSalle Plaza, but I was driving by the Wells Fargo Building last night and felt like there were more lights going up the whole side of the building... is this new or am I just trippin'?

Meh. I love that they are adding something to the skyline but it seems a bit half-assed, no?
