Re: RISE at Prospect Park - 2929 University Ave SE

I drove past this one today and was surprised at the amount of excavation on this property. Probably not too far from starting some footings.

Re: Nord Haus - 315 1st Ave NE (Superior Plating site)

They were building forms along the south part of the property this morning, looks like they're still bringing in a lot of fill.

Re: Northeast (and Southeast) - General Topics

It was nice because you could try several craft beers without having to drive to each one. They had an awesome variety and had really good relationships with the local brewers. They have a private room insided the space that can be used for meetings or small parties. These guys had the right idea an...

Re: Black Lives Matter, The Police, etc.

Yes, I am not dead. I misunderstood the term murked. I did have 4 cops pull guns on me when I was a janitor once, but obviously still alive... I live near 3 nursing homes and several senior apartment buildings. Ambulances come and go what seems like hourly. They typically use Johnson to get on to 35...

Re: Black Lives Matter, The Police, etc.

White people don't get murked for a busted tail light. He is absolutely right about that. I actually have. Wondering if anyone else thinks the sit-in on the freeway this morning was a stupid place to block traffic. With its proximity to HCMC they're little game could quite easily become life or dea...

Re: Nord Haus - 315 1st Ave NE (Superior Plating site)

The last time I was near the site there was still plastic over some areas and it looked like dirt had been "shuffled". That makes me think there is still some abatement going on. In that case they won't start the construction until the full abatement is done.\ As far as the apartment market being ov...

I'm not sure what's difficult about this stretch? Granted, you need to pay attention which is a challenge for the typical Minnesotan lately, but it shouldn't be confusing.

Re: Stadium Parking Ramp Development Site

You've already gotten a commitment from Amazon to bring 100 jobs downtown. When talking with commercial real estate people about downtown they say there is demand, especially for larger contiguous space. These new developments are needed and even with them there is still probably more demand out the...

Re: Chroma - (113 East 26th Street)

They remodeled most of it already. The owners are waiting to finish the first floor space. They have an idea in mind, but are waiting for a couple of things to fall into place. The last time I spoke with them it was not going to be retail, but would be more of a meeting space affiliated with a church.

Re: St. Anthony Village

I live a couple of blocks away and for a trailer park it is really pretty quiet. There is so much senior housing right there it makes me wonder if one of these properties has decided to expand on that plot. I can't imagine they'd put retail there since the strip mall across the street seems to alway...

Re: East End / Thresher Square - 713 Washington Ave S

I don't think either. I don't know that there was any intent to get this one started before spring, if we get into August and we're still waiting, then I could understand the impatience. I think they've been advertising the store as opening in 2017.

Re: Southdale Area Development - Edina

JCP has been doing a slight remodel in the Southdale store over the last month and a half or so. They took up the carpet on ground floor and have honed and polished the concrete for a finished product. In this environment I think it actually cheapens the store even more than it was. I know honed and...

Re: Southdale Area Development - Edina

I can't remember Southdale having decent foot traffic in my lifetime. Even Eden Prairie Center at its slowest times seems busier than Southdale at its average times... and then Ridgedale and Rosedale are just at completely different levels. Not sure about Burnsville Center though, as it's been ages...

Exactly!, but I asked 3 times, I even talked about the images, but was told that it wasn't in the plans. I really wanted to pull it up on my phone for them to look at, but was afraid they'd kick me out. (This was about 2 weeks ago.)

Re: Downtown East - Wells Fargo / Radisson Red / Edition Apt

That's a long story. The short of it is Ryan still has the air rights on the ramp but they're on their own for figuring out parking since they won't be allowed to add to the stadium ramp. https://forum.streets.mn/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2079 I flat out asked a Ryan sup. on DTE about that building and ...

Re: Target Center Renovation

Making a sow's ear out of a sow's ear. It will never be anything but honestly. The worse part is we are going to be right back in this same position in another 10-15 years. I would've been cheaper to do it right this time then to cut corners left and right. I would think they would even admit that,...
