Re: Car Ownership
The graph is taking every july into account and it looks like the only reason why only the latest july is shown is because its the end point of the data. The graph is very misleading in starting at 285K and making the 10k rise look like an insane spike though.

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Office Market
Today ConAgra foods from Omaha (a fortune 500 company) moved it's HQ to Chicago. Fun fact: Omaha tore down a huge historic warehouse district to keep ConAgra there back in the late 80s. Great investment! And what they replaced it with is an absolute embarrassment. Great legacy they're leaving Omaha.

^^ Pretty sure that crane you're seeing is at HCMC, but I haven't been over there in a few weeks so I might be mistaken.

Re: Car Sharing / Rental (Car2Go, HourCar, etc.)
I worked for Car2go for a bit and they have a system that flags any cars that are parked in the wrong areas and there is a team of drivers whose job it is to move them. The more at risk the car is to getting a ticket or towed the higher the priority. If it does get ticketed or towed tho, the last ac...

Re: CPM Cheapo Site proposal - 1300 West Lake St
The "soon this will be just a memory" caption of the picture of the cheapo back parking lot is laughable! And for some reason calling everything condos always irks me. All in all a terrible article. Didn't go96 "gentrify" b96?

Last night after the Nicollet Mall meeting I was walking over to Mayo Clinic Square to see what else has been done recently in terms of the outside, and I happened to be next to James Corner of James Corner Field Operations. He was talking with some of his colleagues about how clean of a city Minne...

Re: Opposition to new Development
In fairness, we are talking about a 20-story tower in a low-rise neighborhood directly adjacent to a wildlife refuge. I can understand why there might be opposition to that. Its across the street from a 20 storey high rise and the nature center is across the lake, by more high rises. I get the sent...

Wait this is going in the Infinite campus off the Lexington exit? There is so much land there, strange they would build up and not out, but cool regardless!

You day because people don't enjoy their hanging balconies? Say what you want but it's an economical way to give urban life some outdoor space, and a valued amenity. A consolation for people wanting a yard but wanting to live urban. The aesthetic is only marginally obstructive compared to the lifes...

Walk ups on Marquette?? I honestly don't see that as an amenity. And the hanging balconies ugh. I'd be okay if this never happens.
