Re: Minnesota Transportation Funding (General)
What is the actual timeline of events on the last night of the session. I have heard so many "reports," but what is true and factual?

Re: Minnesota Transportation Funding (General)
Why does the GOP not support transit? Because the majority of the GOP is outside the metro and their constituents do not support paying more in something (tax, tab fees, etc) for a mode they may rarely, if ever, use. I don't see an issue with that. So the GOP was "stonewalling" to support ...

Re: Minnesota Transportation Funding (General)
Yay GOP https://i.imgur.com/kNkWjtU.jpg I blame all of them, regardless of party affiliation. They work for Minnesotans, yet only consider themselves. How long was the session and why are they waiting until the bitter end? It's ridiculous...vote out all incumbents this November and support those wh...

Re: MSP Airport
No room to move non-Delta airlines to T2, under the current expansion. Planned expansion goes to 26? gates so at that time (post 2020) there may be.

Re: MSP Airport
I have read similar rumors. So you have heard this starts in December? Since Southwest just extended their schedule beyond November 4th, I wonder if they will make an announcement on new service either later today or yet this month. Edit: Is the T2 gate expansion on track for October? If so, I can s...

AF goes daily early June. Icelandair will be daily throughout the Summer as well. Additionally, Icelandair will fly their newly-leased 767 to MSP a few times per week as well.
Look for Condor to be flying to Frankfurt again as well beginning in June.

Facebook page for MSP Spotters indicated it was a return of State Farm employees from a company event in the Bahamas - so yes, a charter by United, in this case.

Re: MSP Airport
In addition to the Air Choice One service, several other carriers have introduced, or will soon, new service of their own. I wanted to post just in case some were not aware. They are: April 5th - American to Washington National (E170/175 equipment) April 12th - Southwest to Baltimore - twice daily n...

Re: Minnesota Valley regional rail (Shakopee, Mankato, beyond)
An update on this project: http://www.mankatofreepress.com/news/mankato-to-metro-passenger-rail-back-on-the-agenda/article_d18d24e2-d681-11e5-94b9-cf2c9723094e.html Talks about starting with bus service between Mankato and Shakopee. I'm guessing travelers would connect to/from the MVTA at one of th...

Really happy I have season tickets. Can't wait for 2018.
I like the renderings as they were presented today. Will be interesting to see if they end up that way.
Naming: 3M?

Re: Major League Soccer Stadium
Hell yes, no parking ramps! It's in the planning stages, as noted in the article. I know they are working to decide how much parking will be needed. Ramps are obviously expensive, so they could potentially build a smaller one, but research was ongoing (last I heard) regarding expectations for numbe...

Re: Interstate 494
I go EB in the AM and WB in the PM, but I am early enough traffic moves. WB timing is a bit different - some traffic, but not gridlock. That said, the opposite direction of traffic needs more relief, but it would help the strip out a ton. I do worry about moving the bottleneck to another portion of ...

Re: Interstate 494
Fixing 494/35 will solve that specific area. A few years ago, an auxiliary lane was added WB between 494 and highway 100. One problem is, the bottleneck is now between France/100. 494/35 sometimes has backups, but not generally (at least in my current experiences). Then, there is a bottleneck (worse...

Re: Interstate 494
In the end, the consumer bears the cost, so I don't agree with raising taxes on global shipping. Ships might be polluters, but they are far more efficient than all the trucks it would take to ship the goods (think Great Lakes as an example). Instead of shipping ore via truck from MN to OH, the ships...

Re: Interstate 494
So when I purchased my hybrid vehicle a few years ago, I began immediately paying less gas tax with a more efficient vehicle. Wouldn't this be a con to increasing the gas tax? It would also make it more difficult for commercial enterprises to meet margins without passing in on to their customers - m...
