Re: Street, Road, and Highway Projects

There really does need to be a East-West freeway connecter on that side of the river to hopefully alleviate some of the traffic on 494. 13 from 169-35W seems like the best option considering its much closer to the core then any of the other proposals, most of wich put the connecter south of CR 42.

Re: Mall of America - Bloomington

They are moving Lindau in the direction of being a road, whereas University is a (big) street. Since streets and roads serve different functions, a pedestrian barrier is appropriate on a road whereas less appropriate on a street. Killebrew** Not Lindau. Lindau is being tunneled with a plaza put ove...

Re: Street, Road, and Highway Projects

What I don't understand is that the main reason for a lot of the work on the Bloomington Ferry Bridge is to handle the extra traffic from the 101 project over the next couple years. However, now they're saying 101 won't need to close during construction. Seems like a bit of a waste. I know the 169 b...

http://m.startribune.com/news/?id=203509241&c=y The highlight- . “Drivers are leaving a freeway environment and are not expecting pedestrians,” she said. Eventually, walls will be put up to stop people from trying to cross the road." Oh god, don't let the people over on the Central Corrido...

Thanks... I'm glad someone appreciates them. I love them! In fact if you have the time I'd love to see Stonebridge and 222 as well... While it won't stick out much in the skyline it will still be pretty visible from some iconic vantage points. Great infill making the city look denser. http://i48.ti...

One I believe is the 10-13 story luxury hotel partn of Bloomington Central Station. The other one is possibly the 10 story Hampton Inn proposed over in the Normandale Lakes area.

Re: Mayo Expansion Proposal - Rochester

So when a professional sports team threatens to leave they all freak out and cave into a horrible decision. But when its a major employer who is asking for money to improve the states infrastructure and livability so they can in turn create jobs and expand the tax base, they call him dumb? Hmm... If...

Re: Sprawl

Since we're talking about sprawl... How about instead of picking on poor little Le Sueur who's building what? One little subdivision out of an old gravel pit. Why don't we focus more on cities like Farmington, Victoria or Anoka. Their whole growth strategy revolves around people driving to work in p...

Re: Sprawl

But just look at all that sprawl!! http://i47.tinypic.com/dg1h7p.jpg A county becomes part of an MSA when at least 25 percent of its workforce commutes to one of the MSA's core counties. So if anything it could mean that more people in LeSuer are instead just working in Hennepin or Ramsey counties a...

Re: What will it take to develop DTE?

Kinda looses its credibility when it includes Philadelphia yet ignores Little Rock. Anyways I voted for Columbia. Minnesota has a habit of not going to far in playoffs so hopefully we'll get knocked out early.

Re: Current & Proposed Downtown Minneapolis Projects

Here's a map I made showing developments replacing lots that are either surface parking or open space. Really puts into perspective just how much surface parking there is. Yellow is under construction, blue is proposed. http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF&msa=0&msid=213266277797308653892.0...

Re: MSP Airport

I've always wondered why St Cloud isn't used more as a reliever airport. Side note not related to the article, Sun Country announced flights to Chicago. So now American, United, Spirit, Southwest, Sun Country and Delta serve the MSP-ORD/MDW market. That's the most airlines serving a single market fr...

I wouldn't think so... And I would certainly hope not. I think it will be built on the parking lot behind it and possibly the abandon warehouse on 3rd and Chicago.

Dudes: Please do not use the quote feature if you are responding to the post directly above yours. It is redundant and unnecessarily makes the page longer. Thank you.
He's not responding to the above post. He's responding to the other post Jim Stanton made which was posted much higher up.

Beautiful. I can't wait to start parking there. I hope they'll be using the white reflective paint instead of the yellow. I'd be fine with either though as long as they number the stalls so I can remember exactly where I parked.
