Wasn't it on Grand just west of Macalaster? Sort of near Shish and the pizza place, IIRC

Re: Washington Avenue
Actually I had just submitted the ramp you talk about to mister.shoes... it should be on the next revision he has been creating. I agree, it would be useful. I forgot that while many people do not connect from 4th to 35W, more people connect from Washington to 35W. This is a connection worth keeping...

Re: Red Line (Cedar BRT)
My idea: - Backbone network of frequent and excellent transit has colors (this could include BRT but I don't think the Cedar BRT is good enough) - Streetcars and arterial BRT have route prefixes. (S1, S2, A1, A2 etc) - All commuter rail is branded as "Northstar Regional Rail" and the lines...

Re: Intercity rail to Chicago
I agree, I think we just need to see a change in FRA policy that allows for HSR trainsets to use conventional trackage, but just have slightly different operating constraints when not on their own ROW. This is how Europe does it, right? I've been on ICE and TGV and they both use long distances of de...

Re: Washington Avenue
According to previous studies, that's one of the least used traffic flows. Most people get from downtown to 35W south via 4th Ave, or Hiawatha via 8th Street. It would also be possible with three lefts (such as eastbound 3rd St > northbound 14th Ave > westbound 4th street > southbound freeway). I in...

Re: Nic on Fifth - (455 Nicollet Mall)
Maybe a network of UrbanMSP webcams is in order? I bet a directional antenna (finding some free wifi) hooked up to a wifi webcam behind that cube wall could stream a webcam without trouble.

Re: RS Eden Emanuel - (822 Third Street South)
I don't think this would interfere with 3rd, since it would just be a streetcar paralleling the bike trail on the proposed map. Another option for a streetcar connection could also be to follow the LRT ROW to midway between Chicago and Norm McGrew, where it could turn north on Chicago and then west ...

Re: Block E
I remember back when I was in 10th grade and Block E was being built, and one of the teachers had a giant blueprint of the complex hanging on the wall in his classroom. I wish we had some sort of high-res plans for the building so we could start playing around with some ideas.... Strib HQ mediaplex ...

Re: Washington Avenue
Yes of course! Honestly it's great that we sort of crowdsource these ideas and some people have the skills to map them out better than I do. I've also emailed Joel some more details about the "West Bank Circle" part of the proposal which would be great to see mapped out. I know the interch...

Re: Red Line (Cedar BRT)
This is going to be a test. Can the burbs with better transit develop to become a little more like urban areas with more density and walkability? Seems strange that the corridors that have potential for more density and walkability are away from Cedar (Galaxie and possibly Pennock).... at the same ...

Re: Intercity rail to Chicago
There's existing rail between Portage and Madison, and some people have suggested a Yahara Station on the east side of the isthmus as the main Madison stop. I think this would be alright if Madison built a small LRT line connecting the University and Downtown to the station. Either downtown or Yahar...

Re: RS Eden Emanuel - (822 Third Street South)
Hopefully that old diagonal MILW ROW is preserved for something! Even just open space, it would be cool to connect to Washington. Or maybe a new streetcar connecting from the U to Washington Ave

Re: Transit News and Happenings
Do they ever have "specials" that can start a route mid way through its run in such cases? Seems like it would make sense to me, especially on days when weather or other situations present a likelihood of people being stranded at bus stops due to overloads.

Re: Transit News and Happenings
The email posted from MetroTransit here https://forum.streets.mn/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=1021&p=12414#p12414 noted there might be improvements at the MOA transit center down the line... Has anyone seen plans or concepts? I'm hoping they could relocate it to the area where the new Mayo/hotel fac...
