Re: Green Line (Central)
Regarding station distances, I'm most familiar with the area from Raymond to Minneapolis. Among those stations, which could you reasonably get rid of? The only ones I can think of might be Prospect Park or the one outside TCF Stadium, but losing either of those stadiums would ultimately make the lin...

Re: Green Line (Central)
I just want to be clear, since I know my last post will immediately open me up to accusations of being "suburban" or something equally as bad in the eyes of UrbanMSP. I'm fully behind public transportation, but the point of my post is that the general perception of public transportation, a...

Re: Green Line (Central)
With all due respect, I don't know how you can say you witnessed: • A fair number of drunks • Gang arguments • Drug dealers • A couple drug transactions • One belligerent drunk who harassed you • A fight that transit police had to intervene in And still say your experiences weren't "actually da...

Re: Vikings Stadium
All things considered the naming rights issue is probably a wash anyway. If the city got the money, it likely would have just had to pay more of the tab anyway.

Re: Downtown Retail News
In Missourah, where I went to school, it was caddy. People in St. Louis also break the mold and use soda, though, so maybe they're an outlier.

Le Seuer's first photo definitely has the viking boats built into the design.

Re: Green Line (Central)
It might have something to do with the lack of gangs and violence affiliated with the shopping mall kiosk market.

Re: Downtown Retail News
In walking down Nicollet Mall today, I noticed that the retail space in 1200 on the Mall (kitty corner from Peavey Plaza) is all torn up and under construction-looking. Anyone (maybe our user 1200onthemall?) know what's up with that? This is random, but did you know people outside of Minnesota say ...

Re: Saint Paul Retail News
There's not really a thread for this, and not sure there needs to be, but I heard on MPR on the drive home that the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe is going to buy two downtown St. Paul hotels, which are believed to be the Crown Plaza and DoubleTree. Apparently the tribe is looking to diversify its portfo...

Re: Mill & Main - (501 Main Street Southeast)
Is there really an "abundance" of empty retail space there now? No obvious gaps are coming to mind right now, but maybe I'm forgetting something.

Re: Junction Flats - (643 Fifth Street North)
Not sure I understand the logic: if the county was going to sell, it would have already happened. The way things are going right now, that land isn't getting any less valuable.

Is phase two for this supposed to go on Main Street, between this and the A Loft building? Or would it go behind this?

Re: Green Line (Central)
Without any evidence except for your photos, the "To downtown St. Paul" and "TO DOWNTOWN MINNEAPOLIS" signs shown are different styles. So my assumption is that the larger yellow background template is upper-lower case and the small blue signs are all upper-case. Is that the case...
