Re: Minnesota Multi Purpose Stadium
Completely agree. The people you see at Vikings games make you embarassed to be a part of the fan base. Twins games have plenty of slobs, but they arent typically obnoxious. -1 Having been employed at 2 different Washington ave. bars during the Metrodome era, it is a rock-solid fact Vikings fans ar...

Re: Minneapolis Streetcar System
I was gung-ho for the Nicollet streetcar until I realized they were still going to be running 18's down the Mall.
Until they show me the plan that minimizes the number of buses the use Nicollet Mall I shall remain opposed.
I'm thinking just that free convention center route, no other buses.

Re: Northstar Commuter Rail
There are two strange things about that comment to me... 1- the North Star DOESN'T go to North Minneapolis. I don't know of anyone that says Target Field is in North Minneapolis. North Loop, maybe... 2- this guy represents Becker and they would get a station. Why wouldn't this guy be for the extens...

Re: Nicollet Mall Reconstruction Project
maybe off topic?? but I've noticed a lot of marijuana dealing on the 21 lately, I'm all for people smoking weed and getting stoned if they so choose but the manner/venue in which they conduct business make me uncomfortable and isn't how we should go about increasing transit use. The current mo...

Re: Blue Line (Hiawatha LRT)
Was delayed about 10 minutes earlier tonight at Humphrey Terminal Station, a car became stuck on the tracks at the 34th Ave/494 diverging diamond interchange. Is there a way to find out how many times this has happened? It's the second time I have been held up at Humphrey Station because of this (la...

I think this would be a perfect location for a Trader Joe's .
This is a hoax.. right??These are all over the web. Here's another place that had them, apparently a scan of a leaked investor packet?

and convention goers, and anyone eating and drinking in dt restaurants and bars. anyone spending money downtown is a minneapolis taxpayer. Following this line on reasoning shouldn't all parking lot tailgating in the city be banned, so that any ticket holders drinking or eating before/after the game...

Re: Public Transit News and Happenings
I'm in one of those new SW transit buses that you've seen on the road lately and what can I say... it feels like a first class flight to Paris with a little bit of turbulence. They have blue strip lighting above our heads, it's not too cold nor warm, the seats are cushy leather and the floor is fak...

The shuttle driver I had going south sat. evening didn't even know the route.. he ended up on the wrong side of Lake st. The 12-15 of us waiting for this shuttle saw him and ran across Lake St. to get on but he had no way to continue on south from the lane he was in, called his supervisor who must h...

Re: 26th / 28th Streets in South Minneapolis
Was ecstatic today when I left my apartment on Blaisdell Ave. and saw the stoplights on 28th & Blaisdell had vanished! Replaced with stop signs on both 28th Ave. & Blaisdell Ave. Does anyone know if this is permanent? The stop signs were obviously of the temporary kind, not planted in the gr...

I found a great vacant site in Whittier for sale for UrbanMSP to do our first Kickstarter development ;) http://www.edinarealty.com/landlots-for-sale/MN/Minneapolis/55404/2007-Stevens-Avenue-106960355 At the very minimum, you could put a 4-unit here and potentially quite a bit more. It's zoned OR2....

Re: Nicollet Mall Project
That looks great. Glad they reduced the curb to almost nothing. Personally, I don't like the look of a variety of materials. Makes it look dated and seems like the materials could wear at different rates. My first thought seeing this was, there's no way it will hold up to the weight/wear from all t...
