Re: Embarrassing Confessions of Urbanists

A certain Streets post referencing Penn American has reminded me...

When I was growing up in Lakeville, I drew up a plan for a skyway (SKYWAY!) bridging Holyoke Ave (Main Street) in little old Downtown Lakeville.
I'm assuming this connected Engrenn's to the Ben Franklin? (Go Panthers)

I'm just going to throw this out there: I want a DSW downtown. Is that a pipe dream?

Re: Nicollet Hotel Block

Is the roof-line angled from south to north? I can't tell if the rendering is exaggerating perspective and it's really flat or if there is an angle... The spire seems sort of tacked-on instead of integrated, but I guess that happens in nature as well... http://www.hercampus.com/sites/default/files/2...

Re: New Kraus-Anderson HQ (9th St. S/5th Ave. S)

What I find most interesting about this development is how KA threw in everything after offering zero initially - isn't that how it played out? It reminds me of encouraging toddlers to share: "Kraus, it would be nice for you to give Minneapolis a cookie. You have plenty and Minneapolis has non...

I've been traipsing through the skyways as an employee for nigh on two decades. That makes me an occupant of a property, no? Come on, let's do this on Monday. Who's with me? There's room aplenty...

Will First Avenue finally update their logo when this thing gets built?

(I actually like the moment in time aspect of the logo, but the gap between the IDS and Foshay is a distinct feature that will cease to be I assume.)

I'd love it if we could have an old fashioned eggs and hash browns kinda place downtown. You know, the kind that opens at 5am and closes at 2 with a big flat iron griddle.
Hen House (former Peter's Grill location) opens at 6:30 and makes a pretty fantastic breakfast.
