It would be fine by me with strict exterior facade requirements for bird safe glass. Cedar Lake is a host to a lot of special species that you typically don't find in large cities.

I'm out of town so I wasn't able to show up. This building is going to suck. Hold developers to higher standards at this point idk.

I may actually voice a request for denial for this. According to the 2040 plan, this should be mixed use. It's really disappointing it isn't since I think Dinky is back to about 90-95% retail occupancy. There also isn't a REAL grocery store yet. Could be a great spot for an Aldi. Although the parkin...

I love bronze/grey palette, idk what you're talking about, we don't have enough of it downtown.

I would think over the 2+ years of planning for this project, someone at Eagle has likely looked at one plan. Heck, I'm sure they've even talked to the developers. It's a shit ton of housing right next to your bar. Talk about business.

The fact there's a calendar makes me happy. The Commons said they would be doing something like this, but a draft calendar was never released, and so far events are pretty scarce.

Re: Northstar Redevlopment Project
Ah diagrams. One of the best and worst ways to represent something. Maybe they'll remove it? But there is TECHNICALLY retail already under/behind that awful parking ramp design.

Northstar Redevlopment Project
A lot more info on this one "Sherman Associates will redevelop the Northstar Center East building, a 13-story office tower, and deliver approximately 217 apartment homes , extensive amenity space, high-end lobby, and skyway connection. Construction on this approximately $85 million redevelopmen...

A lot more images, I like! As long as it actually gets built like that and doesn't end up removing all doors like Gateway did

Re: 900 Marquette - Hines Office Tower - 29 stories / 440'
It's just a shame that the Music Wall will be relegated to a covered back alley for the loading dock and trash compactor, and partially blocked by multiple support columns and (presumably) the second/third floor of the above tower. I drew up a plan a while back for fun that featured a lobby space w...

Re: Bicycle Infrastructure
Washington cycletracks allow you to pull to the side, check your phone, take a picture, etc. Those are casual bikeways. Painted lines are utter trash and the standard should be that of a fully protected space.

Re: Dinkytown
So. It's been a while since I've actually been around the dinkytown housing. I think this neighborhood may have the most tear downs in the entire city. At least in terms of multiunit housing. It's simply nuts. I graduated 3 years ago and there's maybe 20 or 30 houses that have been rebuilt? Need to ...

Gee, you think? Goes to show that Ward 3 residences didn't like Ginger for being a Socialist, but for being anti-development.

Not a single door on Nicollet
The lobby entrance set back on the plaza doesn't count.
Small retail spaces booming in North Loop, could easily bleed into downtown starting here, and developers just don't even try instead.

Re: Future of the forum
I know someone on SSC posted a link to all of the posts a while back from retiredbanker and all of there other fake profiles. Some wild stuff was said by that person. It ended up involving multiple fake linkedin and social media accounts. All of which pointed to a plan to turn the twin cities into ...

I drew up plans to do some wacky aquarium on one of the empty lots on Hennepin when I was like 17. Maybe we could do that.
