Re: Arterial Transit Corridor Study ("rapid bus")
Seattle is redesigning their whole system. For example, they are currently implementing improved bus-stop signage (bus schedules + line maps + real-time information). http://seattletransitblog.com/2011/09/0 ... top-signs/.

Re: Twin Cities Future Transit Map
How would the grade-separated Greenway line connect to bus services and the highway BRT service at I-35W?
Would the line share platforms the LRT at East/West Lake and Midtown stations?

Re: Arterial Transit Corridor Study ("rapid bus")
My gripe with MetroTransit is that doesn't offer any frequency maps, their system map is a mess and there are no local hub maps. Also their branding is inconsistent.
LA Metro has one of the most cohesive branding systems in the nation: http://www.metro.net/
So does WMATA http://www.wmata.com/

Re: Arterial Transit Corridor Study ("rapid bus")
Pretty sure you'll still need a transit map 5 years from now. To figure out transit. On your phone.Transit maps can be sexy and all, but let's not forget that in like 5 years everyone will be using a smartphone to figure out transit.

France Ave is undergoing re-construction this spring to create a more pedestrian-friendly environment. Traffic calming measures are being implemented along York Ave.

Re: SimCity
Did anyone get and like/dislike it? $15 is chump change but I'm still pissed about the DLC in principle. I would wait until they release the offline patch: http://www.simcity.com/en_US/blog/article/simcity-offline-is-coming OR better yet, spend those hard-earned $20 on Banished instead: http://stor...

You still need the big, confusing transit map to provide further information about transfers/connections.

Re: Southdale Center - Edina
Edina somehow excels at adding density without walkability. To me it has always been completely suburban and auto-depended but one can draw a finer distinction I guess.

Re: Southdale Center - Edina
As a South Edina resident, I wonder if the location is appealing enough for anyone to drop $ 1700-4500/mo on a rental. That's $700-1500 higher than the average in my neighborhood. Wouldn't Uptown be a more natural choice for yuppie empty-nesters?
