Ike's is closed permanently. startribune.com/ike-s-food-cocktails-in-downtown-minneapolis-is-permanently-closed/566972891/ They tried to blame their closing on crime just like Rojo did. That's a stretch, and you know it. Here are the facts: Citing failed lease negotiations with the building owner, ...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis General Topics & Development Map
After they only received 1 proposal, that doesn't seem to meet the RFP, I wondered if they would cancel it and make some changes. Seems there was interest, but concerns too, which prevented more players from submitting.

Yes, it was discussed when they announced taking this spot. Works well for them regardless! So did we talk about this? The 801 Chophouse didn't take their name from the address, 801 Nicollet Mall S. It's the name of the chain and just a coincidence that they landed at that address.

I'm afraid the streetcar is on hold until Hennepin County remembers that they're able to fund transit that doesn't run out to second-ring suburbs. Quite true. However, I think we have a unique situation where this falls entirely within the City of Minneapolis, is owned by Hennepin County, but any t...

Once you get to a certain depth, winter doesn't matter to the soil, since it's below the frost line.Maybe they’re going so fast because they want to have the ground all dug out before the winter.

Question: At one time there was a plan for an awful skyway running from the Gateway project to Marquette Plaza. I’m assuming this was replaced by the proposal to run the skyway from the Gateway through the library to 301 Nicollet, then on to 365, etc, etc. Does anyone know if 301 were not to be bui...

Great to see some action finally happening here. Given the position of this building at the edge of the higher rise core of downtown, it will be a good transition to the 519’ across Hennepin and another good addition to the Washington streetscape. No this isn’t spectacular architecture, but it is c...
