This location closes at 8pm now while the Cub is still 24/7 - Even though that Cub is about 1.5x to 2x more expensive than other Cubs. Also Aldi is a God send.

When are we going to admit that we're just bad at designing light rail?

They also have an extremely limited stock. My partner moved in recently and walked there for a few items. Came back with a gallon of distilled water and said we need to go the real Target. Chicago has a ton of real urban Targets, but God forbid they build them in their home city.

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Restaurant News
Nicollet Mall made it through the era of Murderapolis just fine without needing to frost windows. This is so the rich don't see 'squalor'. No need to defend it. You can have clear glass that's more resistant to shattering and smashing. This is a weird take.

Literally the same person, years apart."I've been interested in development in Minneapolis since I moved here in 1982," Bappe said. "I was the kid that goes downtown on the bus and takes pictures and looks up articles at the library."

Re: Excelsior, Wayzata and Lake Minnetonka area
And yet people are paying a lot of money for the other amenities, i.e. a big lake I'm not usually a suburb defender but this is my one. I'll defend Excelsior and beg for commuter rail to return to Wayzata with ferry service to the lake. Metro Transit branded ferries anyone? Like the Copenhagen ones....

Have you been to Excelsior? It was my only escape to an "urban" form as a kid.

Re: Public Transit News / Current Events (MN only)
With a tunnel, the number of stops would probably be cut to only two or three in the downtown area. The trains would run faster but people would also have to walk further. It probably wouldn't be a big time saver. Nicollet Mall needs some kind of expansion - too bad the Gaviidae Commons building ha...

Re: Transit Crime
Out of the box idea that just came to me, many train lines in Tokyo have female only cars during rush hour. What if we dedicate one car in the train to be more lax on enforcement of smoking, drugs, drinking, etc. The transit police would only have to patrol the other cars regularly, and if people a...

Re: Transit Crime
What happens at the track? Does the train go through a turn style as well? What about at crossings? If I wanted to do drugs on a train and get a free ride I would just enter at the tracks and climb onto the platform. I mean the trains only come every 15 minutes, it's not like it's a death trap. Sure...
