Re: Downtown Minneapolis Restaurant News
McKinney Roe had the lovely combination of being overpriced with poor service. I agree. I went there once. The food was average, the prices were well above average and the service was not good at all. I didn't return. You can't run a bar or restaurant relying on stadium event business. You need to ...

Ike's is closed permanently.

They tried to blame their closing on crime just like Rojo did.

Re: Public Transit News / Current Events (MN only)
I don't think free fares will do anything to improve ridership. People don't choose not to ride because the fare is too expensive. They don't ride because transit doesn't work for them. Many of our buses only come every 30 to 60 minutes and Metro Transit randomly doesn't operate some trips because t...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Restaurant News
This isn't a bad location. It's right next to HCMC. The largest employer downtown. It's also a few blocks from quite a few large residential building and there is a new apartment building next to it that is almost complete. This could be a really successful spot for someone that could make this a re...

Re: Nicollet Mall
The Christmas Market should be on the Mall. Not in Peavy Plaza as it originally was (although that's better than in Loring Park), but along the length of the Mall, where it can provide a reason to stroll the length and visit the businesses (such as they are) next to it. That's a whole point of doin...

I personally doubt that will happen. The closed almost a year ago to move. I don't know how any restaurant could afford to close for a year.Supposedly, Pearl and Thief will be moving in from Stillwater, but it sure is taking a long time to do so.

How does the ebike charging work? Are the charging stations grid connected?
The Niceride people told be they'll be swapping batteries as they move bikes around between stations.

There is no question that there is more going on in DT Mpls, but DT St. Paul has a lot to offer. Some of my favorite restaurants are in DT St. Paul:Meritage, St. Paul Grill and Pazzaluna. I understand there are some great spots in Lowertown as well. I would also argue that Rice Park is easily the b...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Retail News
The problem with this space isn't that the people are homeless or "undesirable". The problem is the behavior. Leaving piles of trash, drinking, fighting, drug use and gambling are constant at this location. As a society we have decided that these behaviors are not allowed on the sidewalk....

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Retail News
I wonder if removing the seating area underneath the sculpture would help? It's really sad that they built this sculpture but now nobody can go see it because it's been taken over by the homeless people. And we've just started getting over making public spaces inhospitable to keep "undesirable...

You know I wonder assuming all of them where dockless, how far out some the e-bikes will end up at end of each day, given how I've seen several different brands/types around hopkins and only one of which has a hub nearby. The ebikes are not docless. I spoke to NiceRide this sping. Their plan is to ...

Re: Downtown Minneapolis Retail News
This may get me in trouble, but I'd just like to hear some opinions on this. Don't get me wrong, I'm very empathetic towards the homeless and feel for the horrible situation they're in. But, is it possible this end of Nicollet will continue to struggle because of the crowd that hangs around that ar...
